Bobby Deol enjoyed immense popularity and sucess in the late 90s and early 2000s.
However, in the mid-2000s he suffered a prolonged slump when film offers stopped coming in.
He had Apne, Naqaab, Dostana, Yamla Pagla Deewana 1 & 2, but it did not made much of a difference.
The lack of work led to a period of self-doubt and low confidence. During this difficult phase he got support from some significant people.
His biggest support was his wife Tanya who took the financial responsibility of the household and managed all expenses. She remained with him throughout his struggle with drinking and anger warning him that the situation needed to change. He also got emotional support from Dharmendra and his brother Sunny Deol.
A question from his son about why his mother went to work everyday while his father stayed at home became a turning point and pushed him to work on himself again.
Salman Khan advised him to work on his body to get an entry in Race 3. The main motive was to help him come out of depression. He was then seen in Housefull 4 & Yamla Pagla Deewana…Phir Se.
Prakash Jha played a very big role in Bobby’s comeback after depression. When he was going through his lowest phase with no work, Jha offered him the role of Baba Nirala in Aashram which brought him back to limelight.
He raised to fame with Animal (2023) and was seen in Housefull 5 (cameo) and War 2 (post-credit cameo) and Alpha. Besides this, Bobby also got work in Tamil and Telugu films.
