What are some bizarre facts about India that seem total lies but are actually true?

Here are some mind blowing facts.

  1. If Uttar Pradesh were to be a separate country, it would be the fifth largest in terms of population. Only behind China, India, United States and Indonesia. Currently It’s population stands at 204.2 million according to 2012 estimates.
  2. Even though it is the most populous state, Uttar Pradesh contributes just over 8% to the countries GDP even though It has some of the most fertile lands in the country.
  3. The Tirupati Balaji temple and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple both, receive more visitors than the Vatican City and Mecca combined.

We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made. -Albert Einstein.
