What are some unbelievable facts about Russia that foreigners find hard to believe until they actually visit?

5. There are many police officers in Russia.

• This is a consequence of the fact that some women did not fight in World War II, while some Russian men fought and died in battle.

7. This country has the most terrifying sidewalks in the world.

Note: Regarding number 7, it seems to refer to the fact that road conditions are dangerous in many areas. Also, the reason for the low number of men in number 6 appears to be due to the rapid deterioration of men's health after WWII and the collapse of the Soviet Union. Alcohol consumption and alcoholism are major problems in Russia. It is estimated that Russians drink 15 liters of pure alcohol per year. On September 24, 2009, in Moscow, Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgalyev stated that the average intake is estimated at 18 liters per year, saying, "In Russia, each person, including babies, consumes about 18 liters of distilled spirits per year. WHO experts say that consumption of more than 8 liters per year threatens the health of the population. Russia has long exceeded this level." It has been reported that about half of premature deaths in Russia are caused by excessive alcohol consumption.
