Well of course she is Ariel from Disney!
But here is the amazing stuff. How many of you recognize her?
She is Sally Ride, the first American woman to be in space in June 18, 1983.
What do you think can connect an Astronaut to a fictional Disney character?
Animators looked at footage of astronaut Sally Ride’s hair in space for reference when drawing Ariel’s hair in underwater scenes for The Little Mermaid. Sally’s free moving swirls of hair in microgravity helped the animators to work on the same lines for Ariel’s hair too.
