What are some mind-blowing facts about cricket?

  • Virat Kohli is the second player in the history of cricket to have batted, bowled and keep in the same match.

This happened on 18th June 2015 during India’s match against Bangladesh. MS Dhoni had to go off the field so he handed over his wicketkeeping gloves to Kohli for an over.

  • Virat Kohli is the first Indian captain to win 10 consecutive ODIs outside Home(and outside Asia).

Aman, in the comments section, pointed out that those 10 ODIs didn't have MSD in them.

  • Virat is the first Indian skipper to score a double century in a test match outside India.

Kohli scored 200 runs against West Indies on day two of the first Test at the Sir Vivian Richards stadium in North Sound.

  • Virat Kohli is the first Indian captain to win all of his first five matches in a World Cup.

The only team to remain undefeated in World Cup 2019 so far. (*insert two lit emojis here)

Edit : After India vs England match, Virat has become first skipper to score 5 consecutive 50s in World Cup history.

Kohli is only the second player ever to score 5 consecutive fifties in World Cup history after Australia’s Steve Smith.

Edit : Regarding the fact about Virat being the second player in the history to bat, bowl and keep:

  1. Tatenda Taibu of Zimbabwe is the first one to do so. He did it twice. Both against Sri Lanka in 2004.
  2. And yes! MSD kept and bowled in the same match that too in two different occasion but he didn't get to bat in either of them.
