Girija Shettar is known for her Telugu film, “Geethanjali”. She also starred in a few Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films.
After starring in three regional films she was supposed to make her debut in Bollywood opposite Aamir Khan in, “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar” but was later replaced by Ayesha Jhulka.
After her first shooting schedule for the film she had to re-locate to London due to some personal reasons. The project suffered delays and her inability to shoot was the reason for her replacement.
However, she could be seen in the song, “Jawan O Yaaron”. In the last two decades Girija has appeared in one Telugu and one Kannada film.
Besides this she also appeared in a special appearance as herself in the Riteish Deshmukh-Geneila starrer “Tujhe Meri Kasam”.
Girija Shettar is mostly remembered for her debut lead role in Maniratnam’s “Geethanjali”, where she plays the role of a lively, mischievous and terminally ill young woman who teaches the hero to embrace life.
