BRAHMA’S LIFESPAN
Actually, if you see the life span of Lord Brahma is 1 Mahakalpa. When 100years of Lord Brahma is over it is called as a Mahakalpa. (4 Yugas = 1 Mahayuga, 71 Mahayugas = 1 Manvantara and 14 Manvantara = 1 Kalpa which is the daytime of Lord Brahma and the next Kalpa is the night-time of Lord Brahma. Like this Lord Brahma has a life span of 100 years. When these 100 years complete, it constitutes 1 Mahakalpa). So, Lord Brahma has a huge life span of 7,20,00,00,000 mahayugas. And hence in that period of time, he needs to do the creation by Srihari’s will and blessings, serve Srihari by doing saadhana and at the end of the Mahakalpa, the final Pralaya occurs when Lord Brahma attains Moksha. He is considered as Jivottama along with Mukhyaprana Vayudeva.
KALI’S NATURE
In Tattvavāda, this is because asuric progression is a natural descent (adhogati), which happens quickly, whereas deva sādhana is an ascent (aarohaṇa), which requires prolonged purification and devotion.
Now, coming to Kali raakshasa, he is the head among all the asuras or demonic regime. He has unadulterated and pure hatred towards Lord Vishnu and his devotees. In the daitya taaratamya he is the first demon.
TYPES OF JIVAS AS PER TATTVAVAADA
As per Tattvavaada philosophy, the jivas are divided into three categories:
- Sattvic jivas: These jivas are full of Satva guna and are always devoted to Srihari. These people never think bad of others, don’t do any bad things in their life, associate with devotees etc. These jivas are highly eligible for Moksha. And these jivas include all devatas led by Brahma, Rudra, Indra etc. and other devatas and devata patnis.
- Rajasic Jivas: These jivas are the mixed in nature. Like they are the blend of Satvic and Tamasic. These include the humans.
- Tamasic Jivas: These are the jivas who have a fully corrupted mind and have constant hatred towards others and Lord Vishnu himself. These jivas are sent to Andha tamas or Nitya naraka.
Now in these Satvic, Rajasic and Tamasic also there are three more subdivisions in each which are :
- Satvaguna
- Satva-satva
- Satva-rajas
- Satva-tamas
- Rajoguna
- Rajas-satva
- Rajas-rajas
- Rajas-tamas
- Tamoguna
- Tamas-Satva
- Tamas-rajas
- Tamas-Tamas
Now, Lord Brahma being Jivottama comes in the Satva-Satva category whereas Kali being Jeevadhama or the lowest among the jivas due to his hatred in Lord Srihari, he comes in the Tamas-Tamas category.
WHY BRAHMA’S SADHANA TAKES LONGER TIME THAN THE ASURA’S DVESHA IN SRIHARI?
So, l will try to explain this in a simple terms. See, for becoming bad or to inculcate negative or bad values within oneself, its easier to do so as compared to inculcating good things in life. Its easier for a person to become a bad person as compared to a good person. So, the same concept is applied over here. Brahma’s sadhana is long because he is the highest among the jivas, and his bliss (Ananda) in Moksha is the highest among all souls. To attain that level of bliss, the preparation must be proportionally massive.
Sadhana is not just merely praying the God everyday. Its done in order to know the innate nature of the soul. Its for the vision of the Lord within our hearts which is the Bimbaswaroopi Bhagavan. And this takes time. And for Brahma, these 7,20,00,00,000 mahayugas is his lifespan and hence he utilizes his whole life span in doing Bhagavad aradhana and getting Bhagavan’s blessings. So, you can think why Lord Brahma is known as Jivottama along with SriMukhyaprana Vayudevaru.
Whereas for Kali, his path is not sadhana. He is constantly hating the Supreme Lord Srihari. So, that’s not a sadhana. A tamasic jīva quickly manifests its inherent nature, since this is not a process of purification but of natural decline. Kali attains the yogyata (fitness) for Andhatamas quickly because his hatred for Vishnu is pure and unalloyed. And hence he attains Nitya Naraka and experiences sorrow.
You can even think it of like this:
- Asuric dvesha in Srihari is like gravity: It is a downward descent. Dropping a stone (Kali's descent) is faster than climbing a mountain (Brahma's ascent).
- Deva Sadhana is like evolution: It requires perfect knowledge (Jnana), devotion (Bhakti), and the exhaustion of all remaining karma across multiple universal cycles.
CONCLUSION
Thus, it is not that Asuras ‘complete sādhana faster’, but that downfall (adhogati) is inherently faster than spiritual ascent (aarohana). Reaching Vishnu requires alignment with truth; falling away from Him requires nothing but its absence.
Hope this helps!
