Is Varahi is an avatar of Goddess Lakshmi or Goddess Parvati?

She is independent and Guardian diety of Śākta-s

This confusion has arised because of as usual hobby of Adīkṣita Vaiṣṇava-s. Even after that, most of the references Vaiśṇavas have incorporated are of 5th Mātṛkā Vārāhī.

this Mātṛkā is also known as Unmatta Bhairavī or Laghu Vārāhī, because she has a small Mantra which is given to a Śrīvidyōpāsaka. I don't know which Vaiśṇava Sampradaya initiates in Vārāhī mantra :D.

I hope they will surely get the Vārāhī Krama in order to worship an Ūgra diety like Vārāhī.

By default, Vārāhī means ‘Māhāvārahī’, She with Bhagwati Śyāmalā are swarūpa of Śrīvidyā.

She lives in her Yantra called Kirichakra, which is north east of Lalitāmbā’s house at Maṇidweepa.

She is mostly called by name Daṇḍanāthā in Lalitopākhyana.

She guards Lalitā Mahā Tripurasundarī and her Devotee(Śākta-s)

Those who are against Tripurasundari and her devotees, she destroys them and this is clearly mentioned in Lalitopākhyanam:-

She filled skulls by means of overflowing currents of blood of those who plotted against Lalitā and Śyāmā They wore the intestines of those who hurt and assailed their devotees.

She originated from Pañcāstrabāṇā-s of Bhagwatī Lalitāmbā.

Pañcāstra Bāṇa respectively represents:-

Confusion(Kṣobhaṇa), Tormentating(Drāvaṇa), Attracting(Ākarṣaṇa), Controlling(Vaśikaraṇa), Maddening(Unmādana), these are the names of 5 arrows respectively.

So, Mahāvārahi represents culmination of all these Kriyā-s.

She holds the position of a Father. Bhavanopaniṣad:-

She is Lalitambā’s Pariwāra Devatā, She sits on the right side of Lalitāmbā

She is Senāpati of all Śaktī-s while Lalitāmbā is Queen, without Vārāhī’s permission no one can meet Devī.

This ia the reason why in her Names revealed by Hayagreeva, she is called Ājñā Cakreśwarī because Lalitā resides at Sahasrahāra Cakra and without getting checked at Ājñā Cakra we can't go to Sahasrahāraṃ.

Some other references, In Mooka Pañcaśati:-

In Vārāhī Nigrahāṣṭaka we find many references of her being Sadāśiva Vallabhā

She is also Unamatta Bhairavī, as Śakti of Vārāha.

Śrī Durvāsā Bhaṭṭāraka also says:-

Anyways, I believe more in knowledge and not in information, and knowledge only comes practically when you worship Vārāhī.

Who is Goddess Kamakhya?

Before we get into answering questions about Maa Kamakhya, let's talk about the temple itself first.

🔻The Kamakhya Temple is believed to have originated when the yoni of Goddess Sati fell in the Kamarupa region. Lord Shiva is enshrined here as Uma-Nanda Bhairava. Among all the Shakti Peethas across India, Kamakhya is considered the most sacred.

🔻At the Kamakhya Peeth, the Yoni Mandala of the Divine Mother is enshrined. This sacred space, the Yoni, is the source of creation, from which all of us and the entire universe originate.

🔻This is the sacred place where the ten Mahavidyas and Bhairava, along with their families, reside. This is the very source of power that is capable of giving birth to the entire universe.

🔻In one place, Lord Shiva himself says…

🍁“Oh Naganandini! Listen! Brahma, the creator, sustainer, and destroyer, and all the gods like Rudra, are born from this very womb. If a devotee of Shakti does not worship the Vidya they are initiated into in front of this Yoni Peeth, then mantras and worship become the cause of their descent into hell."

🍁“Oh Goddess! It is because of your Yoni, your power, that I constantly contemplate you and worship you in the lotus of my heart. You reside in my heart with divine and heroic emotions. Oh Durga! Liberation is effortlessly in your grasp. The person who worships the Yoni-Peeth, the Shakti Peeth, through the mantra of power, is blessed. Such a person is a poet, wise, and worshipped by gods and demons.

🍁The yoni is a symbol of feminine energy and creation. Without it, the very structure of existence would be impossible. Ten Mahavidyas reside around the yoni-mandala, making it the most protected area of the body. Divine forces, including Lord Vishnu, are constantly vigilant in its protection because it is the source of all creation.

🍁Kamakhya means the explanation of desire. She who explains desire, who authenticates it, who gives clear messages about it, is Kamakhya. One who does not know desire, the secret of the womb, is ignorant, and such a person is called desireless, a symbol of a lack of creation.

🔻MAA KAMAKHYA (yoni peetha nivasini)

🔻The term "Kamakhya" is a universal truth, regarded as the Brahmayoni, which is the root of all creations in the entire universe and all jeevas.

🍁kāmākhyā siddhidā tēzām sarvavidyāzvarūpiṇī | kāmākhyāvimukhā tōkā nindītā bhuvanatrayē ||

🔻Kamakhya, the embodiment of all knowledge, grants success. Those who turn away from Kamakhya are condemned in all three worlds.

🍁yonirūpā mahāvidyā kāmākhyā varadāyinī ||varadānandadā nītyā mahāvībhavavarddhini |sarveṣām jananī sāpi sarveṣām tāriṇī matā ||

🔻Kamakhya is a great goddess who takes the form of the yoni (yoni rupa), grants blessings, bestows happiness, is eternal, and increases great prosperity. She is said to be the mother of all and the savior of all.

🔻Without Kamakhya, no power can grant fulfillment anywhere. Kamakhya is eternal dharma, Kamakhya is wealth, Kamakhya is desire, and Kamakhya is liberation. O Devi, she is Nirvana, she is Sayujya (mukti). Kamakhya is Salokya, Sarupya mukti, and the ultimate destination. O Devi, she is revered by Brahma and others, as well as Chandra and Vishnu.

🍁yā devī kālikā mātā sarvavidyāşvarūpini kāmākhyā şaiva vikhyātā satyam devi ca cānyathā||

According to the Kamakhya Tantra, Kali is Kamakhya.

🔻Without Kamakhya, there is nothing in these three worlds. The Tantras speak of a hundred trillion Mahavidyas. O Devi, Shodashi is said to be the essence of them all. O Devi, Jagadamba Kali is the cause of even that. Just as the moon's light rises and fades, so too, whatever is eternal or impermanent, stationary or moving, neither arises nor fades without her (Kamakhya). This is the truth.

🍁kāmākhyā paramam tīrtham kāzākhyā paramam tapaḥ| kāmākhyā paramo dharmaḥ kāmākhyā paramā gatiḥ || 35 ||

🍁kāmākhyā paramam vittam kāmākhyā paramam padaल | vibhāvyaivam muniśrestha na punarjanmabhāgbhavet || 36 ||

🔻O Great Sage! One who believes that Kamakhya is the supreme pilgrimage, the supreme austerity, the supreme Dharma, the ultimate liberation, the supreme wealth, and the ultimate destination, will never be reborn.

🍁angeșu bhagavatyāstu yoniḥ śresthatamā yataḥ| yonirūpā hì şā devī sarvāsu strīṣvavasthitā |

🍁इā yonih niḥ patītā yatra tatra zākṣātsvayam sati| tena nāşti şamam sthānam punyadam dharanītale |

🔻Among all the body parts of Bhagwati, the vaginal part is the best; Because she is present in all women in the form of goddess vagina. At the place where that vagina fell, Bhagwati Sati herself is enshrined.

🍁kāmākhyā siddhidā tēzām sarvavidyāzvarūpiṇī || 🍁kāmākhyāvimukhā tōkā nindītā bhuvanatrayē ||

🔻Kamakhya, the embodiment of all knowledge, grants success. Those who turn away from Kamakhya are condemned in all three worlds.

🔻Jaya Jaya Mā 🙏

What are the unique qualities of Rukmini that make her a powerful Hindu goddess?

• Mata Rukmini herself is Adisakti Mahalakshmi, so understanding her qualities is definitely beyond from our human brain, because she is the goddess of infinite qualities.

Maharishi Shuka has clearly said in Srimad Bhagavatam that mata Rukmini is Gunashray.

~Srimad Bhagavatam

The term Gunashray means abode of all auspicious qualities, excellence and virtuous.

Not only Srimad Bhagavatam But many scriptures said that mata Rukmini is source of many qualities, excellence and virtuous.

~Harivamsa, Mahabharatha

~Garga samhita

The word Kalyan-Guna-sampana means ( she who possessing auspicious qualities), Guna-sammate (she who is respected for her excellence qualities) and Guna-bhusana-bhusita ( she is decorated with transcendental virtuous).

• But here we will discuss Three Supreme qualities of mata Rukmini. These Three qualities of mata Rukmini is not some ordinary qualities but the sole reason behind creation, preservation and destruction of world. Which is why she is known as powerful Hindu goddess.

Lord Shri Krishna has clearly described these Tri-guna prakriti Swaroop of Mata Lakshmi (Rukmini) to Garud ji. Mata creat this world by her sattva guna, preserve this world by her rajo guna and destroy this world by her tamo guna.

~Garud Mahapuran

It is said in the Upanishads and Mahapuranas that Mother Rukmini is the creator and the form of Satva Guna nature.

~Gopal tapani upanishad

~Bramha vaivarta purana

But in some Puranas it is also said that Mother Rukmini is of Tamoguna prakriti, who is also called Jagat Dhvanshi (destroyer of the universe or cause of destruction(pralaya karini)) and she also becomes the reason for the destruction of demons.

~Shri Rukmini Sahasranama (Skanda purana)

Whereas in Tantra and Samhita it is said that Mother Rukmini is the Rajoguna prakriti and supremely opulent (param Aishwarya) in nature which sustains the world.

~Gautamiya mahatantra

~Krishna Samhita

According to Srimad Bhagavatam Mata Rukmini herself said she is Tri-guna prakriti( sattva, rajas, and tamas ).

~Srimad Bhagavatam

In Skanda purana also Mata Rukmini is said to be reason behind creation, preservation and dissolution of creation.

Why is lotus associated with goddess Lakshmi?

Goddess Mahalakshmi is often depicted seated on a lotus, symbolizing moksha, or spiritual liberation. As the Goddess of wealth and prosperity, she is not only the bestower of material abundance but also the guide to spiritual awakening, inner peace, and ultimate fulfillment. Goddess Lakshmi leads you to the highest state of satisfaction in life—whether you possess material wealth or not. It reflects the ideal state of being that we, as humans, strive for: a state of contentment, where you are fulfilled, regardless of external circumstances. It is the attainment of everything and, at the same time, the detachment from the need for anything more. This represents the ultimate peace, where you are in harmony with what you have, be it everything or nothing, and are fully at ease with it all.

She also has the power behind the 8 siddhis and 9 nidhis. The 8 siddhis are Godly level or some of which a person achieves through spiritual practice. These include abilities such as becoming as small as an atom (Anima), becoming infinitely large (Mahima), and having the power to control others (Vashitva). The 9 nidhis represent different forms of wealth or treasures, both material and spiritual. Together, the siddhis and nidhis symbolize a complete, balanced life that blends spiritual power and material abundance, as well as inner and outer fulfillment. These 8 Siddhi’s and 9 niddhi’s are granted by Goddess Siddhi Lakshmi to the Deva’s.

Jai maa Padmakshi 🙏🏽

To which goddess does Sri Chakra belong? Is it Sridevi Mahalakshmi (Vishnupatni) or Lalita Tripurasundari (Shivpatni)?

The Adhiṣṭhātrī Devī of Śrī Cakra is Devī Mahālakşmi. She is Kāmeśvara Maheśvarī, Supreme Consort of Kāmeśvara Śiva. She is the empress of Maṇidvīpa. She is Mahātripurā Sundarī Lalitā.

The Brahmāṇḍa Mahāpurāṇa, which sings the glory of Parāśakti Lalitā, clearly states that Śrī Cakra is her Yantra.

3. Śrī Cakra alone is her Mantra (Yantra). She is Tripurāmbikā and she is Mahālakṣmī herself. Formerly, the Cakra was seen coming out of Ātman throbbing and sparkling.

~ Brahmāṇḍa Mahāpurāṇa, Upasaṃhārapāda, Lalitopākhyāna, Chapter 41

119. She who is the mother of the Trimūrtis (Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Śiva) and who is present there in the form of Śrīcakra.

~ Brahmāṇḍa Mahāpurāṇa, Upasaṃhārapāda, Lalitopākhyāna, Chapter 40

15. Kāmākşi alone is Mahālakşmi. The Cakra is Śricakra itself.

~ Brahmāṇḍa Mahāpurāṇa, Upasaṃhāra-pāda, Lalitopākhyāna, chapter 41

4. Her Mantra also has been mentioned. So also the Śrī Cakra which has nine outer coverings and the mystic circles as its ornaments. (You have mentioned that) Īśānī is the presiding deity of Śrīpura.

🪷 Devī Lalitā Tripurā Sundari 🪷 (PC: saitharunvs)

Bhāvana Upaniṣad depicts the human body as a Śrī Yantrā (Śrī Cakra), associating each body part with a specific Cakra and in the Śrī Cakra, Devī Lalitā is the supreme divinity.

It is the Śrī Cakra in the guise of the nine wheels.

The supreme divinity, Lalita, is one’s own blissful Self.

~ Bhāvana Upaniṣad, Atharva Veda

One of the Śākta Āgamas, the Vāmakeśvara Tantra, thoroughly explains the worship of the Śrī Cakra. It enumerates the nine Āvaraṇas, lists the Devīs in each Āvaraṇa (Āvaraṇa Devatās), the Cakreśvarī of each Āvaraṇa, meditation on the Bindu of the Cakra, and other details concerning the Śrī Cakra, Mudrās, and Śrī Vidyā. And Vāmakeśvara Tantra says at the Bindu resides Śrī Mahābhaṭṭārike Parāpara Rahasya Yoginī Lalitāmbikā and she move within Śrī Cakra.

You are Gaurī, Tripurā, the supreme transcendental energy, who moves within the Śrī Cakra.

~ Vāmkeśvara Tantra

In the Tripurā Rahasya, Devī herself affirms that the Yantra representing her is the Śrī Cakra.

46. Henceforth, I will be renowned as "Śrī Vidyā." My city will be famously known as "Śrīpura". The Cakra related to me will be known as "Śrī Cakra", and the Krama associated with me will be known as "Śrī Krama".

~ Tripurā Rahasya, Māhātmya Khaṇḍa, Chapter 53

While commenting on the name “Śrī Cakra Rājanilayā”, Śrī Bhāskararāya Makhin in his Lalitā Sahasranāma Bhāṣya mentions that Śiva and Devī reside in Śrī Cakra.

Śrī Cakra, consisting of Bindu, triangle, etc. It is said, "Śrī Cakra is the body of Śiva and Devī." The meaning is just as the Jiva resides in the body so they reside in the Śrī Cakra.

~ Saubhāgya Bhāskara (Commentry on Lalită Sahasranāma) by Bhāskararāya Makhin

The Stōtras praising Bhagavatī also states that Devī Lalitā is Śrī Cakra Vāsinī.

Note: The Cakra or Yantrā of Devī Lakṣmī is the Lakṣmī Yantrā, which is also known as the Śrī Yantrā since another name for Devī Lakṣmī is Śrī. However, this does not make her the Adhiṣṭhātrī Devī of the Śrī Cakra Rāja. Devī Lakṣmī resides in the Lakṣmī Yantrā, and the methods of worshipping her Yantrā, including the Āvaraṇa Devatās, Dhyāna, and Nyāsa, are entirely different. Thus, the Lakṣmī Yantrā and the Śrī Yantrā are distinct from each other.
