How did Jeetendra react when asked if he had proposed to Hema Malini?

 Jeetendra had never addressed this issue but a few years back he answered this question. He reacted with discomfort and avoidance stating that it would be awkward and embrassing as our kids are grown up now.

Reports suggest that in the 70s, Hema Malini's parents were keen on her marrying Jeetendra but a drunk Dharmendra reportedly disrupted the wedding ceremony in Chennai leading to its cancellation.

Hema’s parents wanted to steer her away from Dharmendra as he was already married and had four children. They even arranged a potential marriage between Hema and Jeetendra by convincing Hema to meet Jeetendra’s parents in Chennai for what was supposed to be a wedding arrangement.
