What are some common mistakes in Indian movies?

Well very few people had noticed this mistake from the movie :

3 Idiots (2009)

When Farhan (R. Madhavan) & Raju (Sharman Joshi) reaches Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad (as Jaaved Jaaferi) house, Ranchoddas is praying to his dad that he couldn't fulfill his last wish with a POT in hand.

To reveal the information about their friend Rancho (Amir Khan), Farhan and Raju steals that POT from the table and run. And later threatens to put the Ostia (Astiya) inside the POT into the toilet.

By the time Farhan actully throws the CAP of POT in the toilet.

But during their conversation (don’t know how) the CAP is again back to the POT.

Which is the best inning played by an Indian batsman outside India?

Sunil Gavaskar's 221 at The Oval in 1979?

Yes, easily.

But unfortunately for Sunny, some bad captaincy decisions from the Indian captain Venkatraghavan screwed the pooch with all his efforts just ending in a draw that pushed that score way behind in rankings.

Remember, Sunny scored that in the 4th innings on English wickets chasing a 400+ total

There have been only 6 players in the entire history of cricket who have scored a double hundred in the 4th innings. Sunny’s score is 2 runs behind George Headley and 1 run behind Nathan Astle.

And remember this…

Gordon Greenidge, one of the 6 to have scored a double in the 4th innings, scored 214* against England in 1984 and WI won and that put Greenidge’s innings in the Wisden rankings 21 of the greatest Test innings of all time. Sunny’s innings is 74th on the list but not top 10. The only Indian batsman on the top 10 is VVS Laxman for his 281 in 2001.

The difference between Greenidge & VVS Laxman and Sunny is the result. Had India won, Sunny ‘s innings would be in the top 5 greatest innings of all time ( Laxman’s innings is in the 6th spot) above Greenidge’s 21st spot and above Laxman. Wisden rankings are weighted on the results.

Greenidge’s innings chased a total of under 350. Sunny’s score chased 438 and ended up 9 runs short for a draw.

So yes, without a shadow of doubt, that is the greatest innings played by an Indian batsman outside India. The only other innings that rises to that calibre is Laxman’s innings but his was in Kolkata not at the Kennington Oval.

What are your 10 Indian movies watchlist?

I will recommend you 10 movies that I really enjoyed watching. It would be a mix of Hindi and Tamil movies.

Kal Ho na Ho

This movie is wow!! One of my favorite movies. I love the way he helps the family which is broken and trying to heal.

The love that he carries for Preity Zinta is also beautifully crafted.

Ek Duje k liye

I would have watched this movie at least 20+ times and I just love it every single time. A love story between a Tamil Boy and a Hindi Girl. Sounds simple? It wasn’t so simple in the 80s.

Kamal Hassan looks so damn handsome.

3 idiots

Such a beautiful movie with such an intense message. You will laugh throughout the movie but definitely, the message is well conveyed. Follow your passion and money will follow.

Dunki

Many told me that the movie isn’t up to the mark but I found it to be very emotional. The obsession and desperation to leave this country was well shown in the movie.

Jab we met

I loved Geet and you will definitely like her too. Calling your ex and abusing them and then burning their photograph, and then flushing it in the toilet was a great laughter therapy.

Rockstar

The first half of the movie is light and funny. The second half is painful. The end is even more painful.

Vinnaithandi Varuvaya

Simbu and Trisha looked amazing together. This movie was classy and it defined love so delicately. People call this a Semi-Tamil movie for a reason. I loved the dialogues - “It was a one-way ticket to heartbreak city” and “That moment is gone”.

7G Rainbow colony

I guess, this movie was released in 2010. This movie was so raw. A lower middleclass boy and a classy girl. The mad love was definitely mesmerizing.

Thadam

One of the best suspense movies I have watched. The director has shared a lot of hidden details throughout the movie. You will definitely like it.

96

One of it’s kind. What will happen if one meets their ex whom they really loved? This movie has portrayed it with all love.
