Which film did Raveena Tandon win the National Award for her role?

 Raveena Tandon won the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Daman (2001). The film was directed by Kalpana Lajmi. She won the award even before the theatrical release of the film.

Raveena plays the character of Durga Saikia, a battered wife struggling against an abusive husband (Sayaji Shinde).

The film also broke her onscreen glamourous image. Her portrayal was recognised for her authencity and depth capturing the intense fear and emotional trauma of an abused woman.

Raveena Tandon did this film free of charge. Juhi Chawla was the first choice for this role. Singer Shaan too made his debut as an actor with this film (previously did a special appearance in a song in Tarkieb).

The film transferred Raveena's image from a commercial “glamour girl” to a critically acclaimed serious actress, prompting her to pick up more challenging, socially relevant projects such as Shool and Satta.

Will Raveena Tandon be cast in "Andaz Apna Apna 2"?

 There has been a lot of confusion with the Andaz Apna Apna sequel.

According to Rajkumar Santoshi he is developing a “spiritual sequel” tentatively titled as Ada Apni Apni. It will be a fresh musical comedy with younger stars and will not be a direct remake.

Priti Sinha (daughter of Vinay Sinha - Producer of Andaz Apna Apna) stated that they own the rights of the original brand and the sequel cannot be made without their consent. So here, it looks like Rajkumar Santoshi is not planning a direct continuation.

On the other hand Aamir Khan revealed that Santoshi is working on a version of Andaz Apna 2. The script is in the initial stages and he and Salman will only give it a nod if they are satisfied with the script.

So the possibility is that Santoshi will make a spiritual sequel. Another possibility, a proper Andaz Apna Apna - 2 will be possible after the consent of Sinha family who holds the rights of the Andaz Apna Apna brand.

Regarding Raveena Tandon:

If Aamir and Salman are satisfied with the script and roped in (with a younger starcast) then there is a very high possibility that Raveena and may be Karisma too can be part of the sequel.

Only then it will be possible to see the original cast once again in the sequel.
