What are some crazy facts that will blow our mind?

‘My uncle died at the age of 90, living all his full life with 21 holes in his head’.

I am not surprised.

That’s because, all of us, have 21 named holes (foramen) in our skulls (cranium), many of them are in pairs, totally adding up to 65 holes.

In school we were taught that everything that God created, has a purpose.

In our first year of medical curriculum, we confirmed it; God must have punched so many holes (foramen) in the skull-base bearing ultra-complicated names, with a sole purpose of failing medical students in the first year MBBS examination.

Apart from the common ones like the optic (eye), olfactory (nose), and auditory (ear) openings; there are lesser known foramina with unpronounceable names like foramen magnum (spinal cord) foramen cecum, foramen lacerum, foramen rotundum, foramen ovale, the list goes on. And if you are lucky enough to name it correctly, the automatic next question is ‘what structure passes through it?’ making you throw up your arms and surrender outright to the mercy of the anatomy examiner.

The 1.2-kilogram human brain feel exactly like hardened jelly to touch, covered by layers of coverings, called meninges. The brain floats in 150 ml of fluid (CSF) to prevent damage form accidental bumps (like a liquid-filled shock absorber), housed inside a solid case called skull. But God needed to connect all the peripheral devices to the CPU, devices like the eye, nose, ear, spinal cord, arteries, and veins, and that why he needed to drill those holes and undertake one of the worlds most complicated plumbing work, making sure that the connection remain secure with life-time warranty, and yet, the fluid doesn’t leak. No need of M-seal.

But God forgot to tell his children to take care of this sensitive inventory; may be, he thought, we understood.

But I have my doubts when I see these
