What are some mind-blowing facts that sound unreal but are actually true?

If you get shot in the head even with a low caliber firearm, the bullet will travel through your skull, brain, and out your skull before the tissue in your head has time to tear.

Mind=Blown

Blue whales heart is the size of a VW Beetle and that you could swim through some of its arteries.

The city of London has a population of around 10,000.

Ants can survive being microwaved.

They are small enough to dodge the rays.

All of the planets in the solar system can fit between the Earth and the moon.

Rounded windows on airplanes help to keep the plane from falling apart after only a small number of flights.

Here is the explanation:
Airplanes are made of aluminum, one of the metals that does not have a lower fatigue limit. That is to say, if you take a piece of aluminum and bend it back and forth with force much less than needed to permanently bend it, it will eventually fail from the cyclic loading.

The cyclic loading of airplane windows comes from pressurisation cycles, as the airliner cabin pressurises after take off and depressurises before landing.

If the metal is formed in a way with sharp corners, then the corners act as a stress concentrator, and that part will exhibit material fatigue first. Fatigue makes microscopic cracks that eventually cause rapid catastrophic fracture.

The adult human has two to nine pounds of bacteria in his or her body.

Every day, you consume more bacterial cells than there are human cells in your system.

You have been infected and invaded by more pathogens than you could count in one lifetime.

Your body has fought ten trillion battles without your knowledge and the fact that you are sitting in front of your computer, reading this post means that you have won every single one.

As a living thing, you've been going strong for at least 3.5 billion years.

Here is the concept:

In my body right now, biochemical reactions we call “life” are occurring. It's cool that they've been going my whole life, my heart has done well over a billion beats at this point. That's cool.

But my life processes date back longer than that. My cells grew out of a egg and sperm that came from my mom and dad, and that process was continuous.

In other words, they were living before, they came together, rearranged themselves, and kept on going.

So in a very real sense, my life is a continuation of my dad's life and my mom's — admittedly for only two very lucky cells of theirs.

Likewise, their life was the continuation of their progenitors, and so on.

I browse a lot in reddit and this is the list of the most interesting facts that sound like BS that I found. Hope you had fun and learned something new.

And have a great life, its been goin on for 3.5 billion years :)
