He was considered one of the most handsomest actors ever . His good looks rivalled that of Dharmendra's

He had thick wavy hair in his youth

& Went bald in his later years

One of the few actors who didn't go for weird unnatural wigs

He came from Bangalore his brother Sanjay Khan was also a very successful actor

He had done a lot of movies like Didi, Ghar Ki Laaj,Tarzan but he got his first taste of recognition with Oonche Log in 1965

The movie that made Jeetendra a star was first offered to Feroz Khan.

Farz

Even the movie which started the famous Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna jodi

Hera Pheri was first offered to Feroz Khan

But Khan wasn't interested in doing alot of movies

When the likes of Jeetendra and Mithun Chakraborty have 200 and 300 movies respectively Feroz Khan only did 50 to 60 odd movies.

Feroz Khan was a tall man in his youth somewhere between 5′11 and 6′0 little shorter than Amitabh Bachchan and as Tall as Sanjay Dutt

It's said it was Feroz Khan who introduced Sanjay Dutt to the underworld

& Feroz Khan and his friend Vinod Khanna died in the same day albiet different years

Feroz Khan's career started gaining pace in the later 60s when he did 2nd leads in movies like
Aadmi Aur Insaan

Safar

Mela

But he wasn't as successful as his younger brother and reigning superstar Rajesh Khanna

Hence turned his attentions towards production and direction

He directed the moderately successful Apradh in 1974 with Mumtaaz

And wanted to make an indianised version of The Godfather with Rajesh Khanna

Which ultimately became Dharmatma originally he wanted to play the supporting role of Danny Denzongpa and Direct the movie bit Rajesh Khanna vetoed that decision and told Feroz Khan to focus only a director this move changed the careers of three people Rajesh Khanna who after losing Deewar could've restablished himself as an action hero, Danny Denzongpa who became a sought after villain & Feroz Khan who himself became a huge star

He Feroz Khan after Dharmatma zoomed past his brother in Stardom and had the meatier role of the two in Naagin after playing supporting role in the earlier Mela

Feroz Khan gave the biggest hit of the 1980 Qurbani

Which became a much bigger hit than the most anticipated movie Shaan

& Surprise blockbuster Aasha

The success of Qurbani was so huge that it steamrolled a very well made movie like Karz

& Became a catalyst for Rishi Kapoor's depression

Later on Feroz Khan kept acting in also Ran movies like Chunouti with Dharmendra

Khoon Aur Paani with Jeetendra

I think he could've been a huge success in movies like Himmatwala,Mawaali,Tohfa,Qaidi and Justice Chowdhury has he decided to continue acting

Feroz Khan later started acting a deutragonist in his movies like Jaanbaaz and Dayawan While Jaanbaaz was a huge hit

Dayawan was a moderate success

based loosely on the likes of Vardharajan Murlidhar . Once Akshaye Khanna even said that it was his favourite movie of his father

Vinod Khanna in Dayawan

Feroz Khan’s career lantern took a backseat after the launch of his Son

With whom his movies didn't work

I feel had Fardeen Khan not tried to become a diluted version of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan respectively and followed in the footsteps of his dad he could've succeeded

Feroz Khan was one of the first Indian actors to openly keep a Muslim name in an era when Yousuf Khan became Dilip Kumar, Mahjabin Bano became Madhubala

However Feroz Khan wasn't his orginal name his real name was Zulfiqar Shah Ali Khan.

A thorough patriot who criticized Pakistan and it's government in Pakistan nonetheless

Feroz Khan has his fair share of fights in the India with the likes of Shammi Kapoor

He was one of the only actors who took down the wild sided Sanjay Dutt

He even has a huge fight with SRK who rejected his movie

I think SRK always wanted to be an action hero a Feroz Khan movie in the initial stage of his career would've helped him but similar to Rajesh Khanna SRK also rejected Feroz Khan

Feroz Khan launched and relaunched several actors like Danny Denzongpa and Shakti Kapoor who became premier villains after his movies Dharmatma and Qurbani

Feroz Khan also relaunched Dimple Kapadia as a leading actress after a her failed marriage to Rajesh Khanna

Similarly Vinod Khanna's comeback to Bollywood was with Dayavaan one of the few movies where he shed his commerical action hero portrayals and totally becoming the character to get rave reviews

It's sad that he couldn't make his son a huge star

Feroz Khan was called Clint Eastwood of the east due to his uncanny resemblance to the former

Even the all time blockbuster Sholay

Was inspired by a Feroz Khan spaghetti western Khotte Sikkay

It's said he used to shuffle in the streets of Bombay as a cowboy as told by Shakti Kapoor

Feroz Khan brought in alot of elements into bollywood like Race car driving in Apradh

Later used in Baazigar

Feroz Khan popularized western attire in actresses

And motorcycles in Bollywood

When every actor from Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff opted for wigs and hair patch

Feroz Khan happily flaunted his slick chrome

The supremely successful Welcome was his last movie

Feroz Khan or Khansaab as he was called loved his life king size on his own terms as Nana Patekar say’s
