Why is fitness important?


  • Heart throb: Rishi Kapoor in his youth was known for his good looks and fit body. He was slim and quite active to undertake tough shooting assignments. 
  • As a story goes ; during his younger days; he lived a disciplinarian life under gaze of his parents - Raj Kapoor, thespian - and hardly had any bad habits. No wonder, he performed really well and became a star- actor.
  • Foodie : Nevertheless, he soon gave in to passions- good life style , good non vegetarian food and wine ,smoking and so on. All his discussions moved around food. It did impact his body. 
  • Rishi Kapoor loved to drink and he was never shy about it. Well, he drank passionately.
  • Paradox: Alas, it soon impacted his career as no one wanted an over weight (90 kg) but also a remarkable actor . Ironically, many actors ;who belonged to his age group kept on working well- Mithoon Chakravarthy ,Naseeruddin Shah and others. 
  • Irony: he found that his heavy drinking or food habits had also impacted his health. Although, his wife tried hard to change his life style. But, it was too late . 
  • Heart Throb : Neetu Singh in her youth was also a heart throb of millions. She along with her husband Rishi Kapoor were seen as a star couple . Neetu Singh was always known as a fit and active actress .
  • Food : With age, this seasoned actress changed her eating habits many years back. She is a light eater and refrains from smoking and drinking. 
  • Fitness: She is known for her strict fitness regime- exercises , yoga and so on. One can say, she has aged gracefully.
  • Irony: She gave up her promising career to be a home maker and tried hard to change food habits of her husband. She appeared in some known hindi movies - Love Aaj Kal; Do Duni Char and just to motivate her husband.

  • RIP Rishi Kapoor ji -a remarkable actor; a jovial human being.

Why is fitness important?

 First some Fat to Fit.

(Below are some celebrities who on time realise how much important fitness is)

1:- Bhumi Pednekar.

Bhumi successfully lost about 27–28 kilos in a few months.

2:- Alia Bhat.

Alia bhat lost 16–17 Kilos in just 3 months under the supervision of her dad Mahesh Bhat.

3:- Adnan Sami.

Adnan Sami was once weighted 230 Kilos and lost 130 kilos in a year and now its almost 75kgs.

4:- Arjun Kapoor.

Before signing for films arjun weight was almost 130+ kilos and lost 50 kilos in 3–4 years.

5:- Kareena Kapoor.

kareena kapoor weighted 90kilos during her pregnancy and after giving birth kareena managed to loss 32 kilos.

6:-Zareen Khan.

Zareen was first weighted 100+ kilos for her movie she loss almost 44 kgs.

7:- Sara Ali khan.

8:- Sonam Kapoor.

9:- Sonakshi Sinha.

As from above pics its very clear that why fitness is soo important to start any career.

Lets compare some other sides.

1:- Sylvester Stallone.

Can you believe this man is 73?

2:- Jackie Chan.

Jackie chan has worked in more than 200 movies

age is 66 years

3:- Suniel shetty.

Appeared in more than 220+ movies also called Arnold Schwarzenegger of india.He is in his 50's but still he is unbelievable.

4:- Anil Kapoor.

Anil kapoor has stopped aging as he looks more young and has very good looks than many young actors in industry and he is in 60's.

Now lets compare with the same age actors who almost ignore the fitness.

1:- Deepak Tijori.

2:-Rajat Bedi.

3:- Harish Kumar

Why is fitness important?

 Yes. Fitness is very important, especially if you are working in the movie industry. Let me explain with an example.

This is the popular South Indian actress Meena. She was the no.1 south Indian heroine during the 90’s and has the unique distinction of starring opposite all the South Indian Superstars.

Her debut in Malayalam industry was as a child actress in Oru Kochu Katha Aarum Parayatha katha.

Later she acted in a Malayalam movie called Rakshasa Rajavu as a heroine.

She has also acted as supporting character in a Malayalam movie called Balyakalasakhi, where she played as the mother of the hero.

I hope, you have noticed Mammootty in all the above images. Yes, Meena has acted with Mammootty as a child artist, as a heroine and even as a supporting actress, that too as his mother. I think, there are not many actors who have achieved this kind of a feat and I guess, this example speaks volumes about how important is fitness, especially for an actor to maintain his physique to play lead roles and maintain his stardom over the time. Yes, I am talking about the fitness of actor Mammootty.

Mammootty is around 69 years old now and has completed more than 40 years in the industry, but still he looks better and fit than any other actor in Malayalam cinema.

He is enough fit to do justice to all his characters and for him fitness is not about 6 packs or muscular body. Mammootty was aware of the importance of fitness from the beginning of his career and he achieved his physique by following a healthy diet and daily work out. He is the biggest inspiration for all the young actors in Malayalam cinema and here Prithviraj speaks about how Mammootty influenced him to maintain his fitness.
