Which animals are the enemies of the King Cobra?

Which animals are the enemies of the King Cobra?

Even though it’s not the deadliest of venomous serpents, nevertheless the king cobra remains the world’s longest venomous snake, measuring about 3.6–5.4 meters long. Hence, it’s a fearsome predator that has nothing to fear from.

But still, king cobras do have enemies, primarily mongooses – which do possess immunity and can bring down the snakes –, birds of prey, and even feral dogs – in fact, a pack of five dogs was once spotted to team up, attack and kill a king cobra (see below)!

However, humans remain the king cobra’s greatest threats, particularly due to hunting for meat, skin and use in traditional medicine, as well as increasing loss of habitat to deforestation.

Consequently, king cobras are classified as vulnerable, and conservation efforts are under way to protect the snakes and their habitat on one side, and the local people on the other.
