Kader Khan , actor-academician, was a multifaceted personality.
Afghan : He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1937.
His paternal family belonged to Kandhar , Afghanistan.
His maternal family belonged to Balochistan.
Indian : His family moved to Kamathipura in Mumbai ,India in 1942.
He had a troubled childhood as his parents divorced.
Soon his mother remarried.
Stepfather : His stepfather maltreated him and his mother.
He made him work and beg outside mosques.
Mother : His mother motivated him to do well in life.
She did odd jobs to fund his education.
Academician : He did his post graduation in civil engineering.
He soon joined an engineering college as a lecturer.
Theatre : Being a booklover , he soon joined dramatic arts.
He participated in many plays during his college days.
Writer : He debuted as a dialogue writer in Jawani Deewani (1972)
But, he earned acclaim as a writer in Roti (1973) starring Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz.
He was paid Rs 1 lakh (a big amount) by its film maker Manmohan Desai.
He went on to write many film scripts and dialogues.
Actor : He debuted in show business with Daag (1973) , a super hit movie.
He soon became a popular character actor (Hero Number 1 ; Hum ; Coolie ; Coolie Number 1 )
He was a popular comedian.
Producer : He also produced Shama (1981) , a flop movie.
Acclaim : He was awarded two Film Fare awards dialogue writer and one as a comedian.
He was also honored with Padma Shri , Indian civilian honor, in 2019.
Oblivion : His family members allege that film industry forgot him in his old age.
Thus, he moved to Toronto, Canada , where he died at the age of 81 in 2018.
