Haji Mastan- His original name was Mastan Mirza and was born in Tamil Nadu. He left Tamil Nadu for Bombay and started working in famous Cawford Market in Bombay later he started working in Docks for long hours. He joined hands with Sukkur Narayan Bakhia underworld don from Daman as he wanted to control business of products smuggled from Arab countries in Bombay and Daman He was one of the infamous trio of mafia dons Karim Lala cheif of Pathan gang and Varadarajan Mudaliyar another underworld don from Tamil Nadu.
He also maintained freindly relations with Bala Saheb Thakrey.
He was also seen in many Bollywood parties and was having contacts with many Bollywood celebrities. At his peak Haji Mastan operated powerful smuggling syndicate in Bombay and along the Gujarat coast and later diversied into film financing and real estate business. Later he joined politics and started his own party Dalit Muslim Suraksha Mahasangh. He died of Cardiac Arrest in 25 June 1994.
