What are the most interesting phenomena concerning islands?

I will give you three examples.

Here is the first one: There is an island in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius, which has what is called a "underwater waterfall"

This is obviously not a real waterfall. It is formed by sand falling through the large crevices below.

It's theone of the most dangerous islands in the world: it is prone to earthquakes and has strong volcanic activity.

There are regular sulfur leaks into the air, so locals living on this island very often have to wear gas masks.

It is an uninhabited island of 31 with at least 350 shipwrecked boats in the vicinity of it!

Horses roam peacefully on the island. They are said to have ended up there because their parents were confiscated hairs from then expelled from the island at the time.

Today, they are genetically quite unique. And they live peacefully on this island, which essentially resembles a giant sand dune.

They found grass to eat and ponds to drink from. When water is scarce, they have learned to dig holes and find drinking water beneath the surface of the sand.
