Sridevi prioritised her family and personal life and became highly selective about her roles. She wanted to choose quality and meaningful roles. In fact she was offered the role of Sivagami in Bahubali which was later played by Ramya Krishna.
There were claims that Sridevi turned down the role because the producers refused her to pay a fair salary. According to Boney Kapoor, the producers offered her less money than she got for English Vinglish.
Boney stated that the producers were the culprits who fed Rajamouli with wrong things. They never told Rajamouli about the offer they had made. Instead they fed false information to Rajamouli about Sridevi demanding 10 Crore, an entire hotel floor and ten flight tickets.
Boney clarified that the only thing Sridevi asked was to schedule big shoots when their children had holidays. Sridevi later gave an interview to a Telugu channel stating that if she would have been so demanding she would have not been in the industry for about 50 years.
With curtains down to Bahubali, Sridevi waited for the right script. Instead of doing multiple movies she acted in the Tamil film Puli (2015) and later in the acclaimed thriller Mom (Boney Kapoor was one of the producers).
She was also slated for more projects such as a role in Kalank (later played by Madhuri Dixit) before her sudden passing in 2018.
