But about 3,000 years ago, in Greece, people were already practicing a sport called episkyros, which was later perfected by the Romans.
The novelty reached China, and they changed some of the rules. Only much later did England invest in this sport.
2- The Great Wall of China can be seen from space: this is a lie that has been circulating around the world for decades. However, when an astronaut in orbit looks at Earth, they cannot see this wall or the pyramids of Egypt.
This theory emerged in the 1970s. But in 2003, a Chinese astronaut was in space and stated that from there it's impossible to see the enormous wall in his country.
3- The Amazon is the lungs of the world : nobody knows where this story came from, but the truth is that it's not true.
The Amazon absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen, while the lungs do the exact opposite; that is, we breathe in oxygen and release carbon dioxide.
4- Man came from monkeys: this is a lie that still gains support from many people today, but scholars have made it clear that this is not true. Humans and monkeys share the same ancestor, and this is what causes all the confusion.
5- Lightning doesn't strike the same place twice: proof that this is a lie is lightning rods, as they can be struck multiple times during a storm.
That's why experts always warn that during heavy rain, it's best to stay in a safe place, but never under trees because they can be struck by one or more lightning bolts.
