What innovations have been regretted by their inventor?

  • USB was created to make it easier to connect one device with another. But even today, we have to try 2 or even 3 times before entering our USB key in the right direction. Ajay Bhatt, its creator, told a conference that USB should basically be reversible. But this was not because of too limited a budget, then he added that he regretted not having been able to complete his invention
  • Tim Berners-Lee, the main inventor of the World Wide Web (WWW) said in 2009 at a scientific conference that one of his biggest regrets was that double slash after the http in the web address (//) n actually has no interest.
  • If you're complaining that passwords should be created with uppercase, lowercase, and special characters, Bill Burr is the one to complain to. Pressed by his management and the American government, he wrote an unfounded report in 2003 which said that a password with these 3 criteria was secure. He later apologized because in reality, what matters is the number of characters used
