What are the most mysterious things about Indian temple?

 Shree Ram Raja Sarkar.

Only temple in the world where Shri Ram is worshipped as a King Ram.

A King's Palace was turned overnight into a Temple in the 15th century.

The Creator of Universe Shri Ram is also considered as a King of Orchha State in M.P. No one including Prime Minister/Chief Minister is being given a salute by the Police here. Only Shri Ram is considered as a unified government in Orchha.

All the daily rituals and puja of Shri Ram is done like a King in his full glory!

It is a true tale of 15th century.

Ruler of Orchha Madhukar Shah Ji was an ardent devotee of Shri Banke Bihari (Krishna) whereas his wife Ganesh Kunwari was devoted to Shri Ram. Once upon a time, they both went to a temple of Lord Krishna. The temple was closed so they waited outside for the opening. They were joined by a group of devotees there who were dancing and singing in the praise of Shri Krishna. It is believed that Shri Krishna and Radha themselves came and took part in that devotional ceremony. After this, King asked Queen to go to Mathura-Vrindavan with her for the darshan of Shri Banke Bihari but the Queen wanted to go to Ayodhya for darshan of Shri Ram.

The King became angry on Queen and said her that you always keep praying to the child form of Shri Ram but he never gave darshan to us like Shri Krishna did today. So if you want to go Ayodhya, Go! But return only with the child form of Shri Ram.

Queen Ganesh Kunwari went to Ayodhya and started doing very hard Tapasya with a firm decision in her mind that either I will have a darshan of Shri Ram or I will submit my life in the Saryu river. Many days passed but Shri Ram didn't appeared in front of her eyes. So one fine day, in the midnight she jumped in the Saryu river. But a strange thing happened!

Instead of drowning, she found herself in the shore of river and on her lap she found Bal Swaroop Ram (child Ram) sitting and smiling at her. Queen, with tears of joy in her eyes prayed to Shri Ram and asked a boon to come with her to Orchha and live there.

Shri Ram agreed on three conditions. First is they will travel from Ayodhya to Orchha only in Pushya Nakshatra. Second is once he reached Orchha, he will be the King from that moment onwards of Orchha. Third is, wherever the Queen seat me first after her lap will be my final seat and I will remain seated there always.

The Queen readily agreed and it took 8 months and 27 days to reach from Ayodhya to Orchha as they travelled only in Pushya Nakshatra. Before leaving Orchha, Queen ordered to strat building a Chaturbhuj Temple without letting the King know. Meanwhile, Shri Krishna came in the dream of King Madhukar and scolded him for differentiating between Krishna and Ram. King realised his mistake and went with all the horses, elephants and glories to receive the Queen with Shri Ram.

King apologised to the Queen and they happily entered the Orchha. Queen Ganesh Kunwari rested Shri Ram in her palace and thought that next day Shri Ram will be seated in his Chaturbhuj Temple.

But as Shri Ram stated the condition, he remained seated and transformed into an idol in the bedroom of Queen in her palace and nobody was able to move him from there to Chaturbhuj Temple.

On that day, the palace was converted into a temple and Shri Ram became the King of Orchha state. This was the same day when Tulsidas Ji completed writing the story of Ram Ramcharitmanas.

It is also said that this idol was actually of Ram Janma Mandir in Ayodhya. Because of continuous attacks on Temples and rituals of Sanatan Dharm, Shri Ram decided to move from Ayodhya to Orchha. People believe that Shri Ram stays in Orchha at day time and went to sleep to Ayodhya everyday.

All sorts of photography and videography is prohibited inside the temple. Also it is believed that if anyone takes the darshan of the lotus feet of Shri Ram here, all his/her wishes gets fulfilled. But as Shri Ram is seated in Padmasana (Lotus Shape) it is very difficult to see his feet.

Shri Ram is present here alongisde Maa Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, Sugreev, Jamvant, Narasimha and Ma Durga in Ram Darbar.

A Guard of Honor is given to Shri Ram daily 5 times by the Police as he is the King of the State!

Also nobody dares to do any sinful deeds and take any sort of bribes or do corruption as they fear their King Shri Ram.

There is nothing mysterious about the temple as Shri Ram is the the creator of uncountable universes so it's very obvious that he is the King of Kings as well!

Jai Shri Ram

Can you tell some mysterious facts about the Universe?

  1. When your TV or any sound-producing recorder or music system is not working properly, the useless noise it produces is actually the result of radiation formed immediately after the Big Bang, which still exists even after 15 billion years.
  2. According to astronomy, we say that all physical matter exists in this universe. It contains trillions of stars, solar systems, and galaxies. But this is only 25% of the total matter. There are still many other things yet to be discovered.
  3. If NASA sends a bird into space, it would not be able to fly and would soon die, because there is no force there to help it fly.
  4. Do you know that dark matter is a type of matter present in the universe that cannot be seen, but its gravitational effect is observed? That is why it is called dark matter — it exists but cannot be seen.
  5. If you count 100 stars per minute, you would count an entire galaxy in 2000 years.
  6. After the Big Bang, the universe expanded into its present form. But according to modern science, physical matter cannot travel faster than the speed of light. However, according to the Big Bang theory, the universe has expanded to 93 billion light-years in 15 billion years.
(1 light year = the distance light travels in one year.)

This confusion is explained by Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity. According to it, the farther two galaxies are from each other, the faster they move apart in proportion to their distance. This fact may seem difficult to understand, but if you read carefully, you can understand it gradually.

  1. The name of our galaxy is the Milky Way, and our solar system is part of it. In Greek, “galaxy” means “milk.” If you observe galaxies through a telescope, it looks like a stream of milk flowing.
  2. The Large Magellanic Cloud galaxy is the brightest of all galaxies. It is visible only in the Southern Hemisphere. It is 170,000 light-years away from Earth and has a diameter of 39,000 light-years.
  3. Abell 2029 is the largest galaxy in the universe. Its diameter is 5,600,000 light-years and it is 80 times larger than our galaxy. It is 1.07 billion light-years away from Earth.
  4. The Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy was discovered in 1994 and is the closest galaxy to Earth. It is 70,000 light-years away.
  5. The Andromeda Galaxy is the farthest galaxy visible to the naked eye. It is 2,309,000 light-years away from Earth. It contains about 300 billion (30×10¹¹) stars and has a diameter of 180,000 light-years.
  6. Most galaxies are elliptical in shape, but some change their shape. Our galaxy, the Milky Way, is elliptical.
  1. Abell 1835 IR 1916 is the most distant galaxy in our universe. It is an astonishing 13.2 billion light-years away from Earth. In 2004, astronomers at the European Southern Observatory announced its discovery.
  2. The Cosmic Calendar

After the Big Bang, many astronomical and Earth events occurred, including the birth and extinction of dinosaurs. These events happened over such a vast time span that an ordinary person cannot easily understand it. To solve this problem, American mathematician and astronomer Carl Sagan proposed the “Cosmic Calendar.” In this calendar, the entire history of the universe from the Big Bang to now is represented as one year. Here are the events in this calendar:

January 1, 12:00 am — Big Bang; origin of the universe
March 15 — First stars and galaxies formed
May 1 — Formation of the Milky Way
September 8 — Formation of the Sun
September 9 — Formation of the Solar System
September 12 — Formation of Earth
September 13 — Formation of the Moon
September 20 — Formation of Earth’s atmosphere
October 1 — First single-celled life on Earth
October 7 — First known fossils
December 18 — First multicellular life
December 19 — First fish
December 21 — First land plants and insects
December 23 — First reptiles
December 24 — First dinosaurs
December 26 — First mammals
December 27 — First birds
December 28 — First flowering plants
December 29 — Extinction of dinosaurs
December 31, 11:55 pm — Entire recorded human history until now

What are some mysterious scientific facts about Indian temples?

When people speak about INDIAN TEMPLES, Temples of Tamil Nadu form an important part.

Tamil Nadu known as Land of Temples is a home to many ancient and beautiful temples.

If you enter by any way into TN, there will always be a temple to welcome you.

Each village/city/town is built around a TEMPLE in Tamil Nadu and TN has no less number of facts and mysteries.

Some of the mysterious cum scientific facts of such Temples are listed below.( the answer is little big)

1.Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple

This famous temple of TN was nominated for the 7 wonders of the world with 33000 sculptures in this Temple, its built in the angle of 23 and a half degrees coinciding with the axis of earth that means all temples are built without an angle with respect to rising and setting but this temple is built very straight to north and south

Its still unknown how come the ancient kings built it so perfectly .

one more mysterious fact is that no fishes live in the golden lotus pond of this Temple though the Goddess here is known as MEENAKSHI OR GODDESS WHO HAS EYES THAT OF FISHES, still how much ever you leave a fish inside this pond, it dies off soon.

One more fact is this temple has the highest number of 14 Gopurams and no other temple in India as such number of very high and 14 Gopurams .

2.Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleshwarar Temple.

This beautiful ancient 25 acre Temple for Lord Shiva has a story that is as old as creation of universe.

Normally Tamil Nadu follows Agama Shastras ( a combination of the Vedic Hinduism and Dravidian Hinduism) and in Agama temples, there is a concept of Veedhi Ula( procession) wherein GOD made of Pancha Loham is taken outside once in a year or for a period of 10 days in a year and that time the god is taken out only by the main entrance way.

But in this temple, the GOD comes out by the adjacent way next to MAIN GOPURAM and its the only temple that follows this way and the reason is unknown.

3. Thirukovillur Vishnu Temple

Normally in all the temples of India, Lord Vishnu have his CONCH OR SHANGU in his left hand and Chakra in his right hand but this temple is special.

Here Vishnu have his conch in right hand and chakra in his left hand with his right feet raised above.

4.Chidambaram Natarajar Temple.

In India, every God has his own temple and even if two main gods have a temple, you should worship them in different sanctoms but in Chidambaram Temple, you can worship GOVINDARAJA PERUMAL and LORD NATARAJA by standing at one point which is very rare and you cant witness such type of Darshan in any other temple of world.

In all the temples, only the Uthsava Murthy comes out for procession but in this temple Moolavar or the main God(the God inside the sanctorium) comes on Veedhi ula( procession).

This is the ONLY TEMPLE in India which celebrates both Thiruvadhirai festival for Lord Shiva( day on which universe was created) and Vaikunta ekadashi for Vishnu ( day on which the doors of Vaikuntam opens where according to beleif whoever dies on this day can get an oppurtunity of going to heaven irrespective of his karmas)

5.Thirunageshwaram Uppiliappan Temple

This temple in Kumbakonam, known as the temple town of Tamil Nadu, is very special temple for Hindus.

The reason is due to the Prasadam given in this temple.

Actually till now salt has never been added into any of the PRASADAMS done in this temple but still after pooja is done, the naivedhyam offered to GOD tastes very good as if salt is added in it but the makers don’t add even a pinch of salt into it.

6.Rameshwaram Ramanathaswamy Temple

In the Shiva Temples of Tamil Nadu , the poojari gives Vibhoothi and in Vishnu Temples the poojari gives Theertham but in Rameshwaram ,this way is opposite.

The shiva Temples of Ramehwaram give Theertham of Lord Vishnu and Vishnu Temples give Vibhoothi of Lord Shiva.

7.Alwarpalli Natarajar Temple

The murthy of ALWAR NATARAJAR TEMPLE is of a special one because Natarajar murthis are always made of PANCHALOHA ( a combination of 5 metals) but the murthy of this temple is made of stone and this stone is very special as it gives the sound of bronze metal when striked lightly.

8.Ratnagiri Murugan Temple,Vellore

A miraculous thing happens everyday in this Temple.

Milk turns into curd after Abhishekam.

Yes, you heard it right.

You yourself can witness this event of milk turning into curd after the Abhishekam in done.

9.Kulithirai Manaparai Temple ( Ratnagiri Malai)

This temple is present on an hillock .

The mysterious thing that happens on this hill is absence of birds flying over it.

Though you can find birds flying near this hill to the surface, its unknown why none of those birds neither fly nor sit on the branches of trees on this hill but you can climb and visit the Temple.

10.Keralapuram Temple, Kanyakumari

Though this temple is for Lord Shiva, the Ganapathi present under the Banyan tree of this Temple is very famous for his color changing phenomenon.

During the Uttarayana Kaala, the colour of the Vigraham remains WHITE while in Dakshayana Kaalam, the colour of Ganapathi Vigraham turns black.

The reason that they say is that the vigraham is made up of CHANDIRA GAANDA KAL (a type of stone that changes color according to seasons and suns rays).

12.Samayapuram Mariamman temple

One of the famous Devi or Amman temples of TN, the vigraham of this temple is very big and is not made up of stone.

The vigraham is made up of medicinal plants just like the PALANI MURUGAN TEMPLE that is made up of NAVAPAASHANAM( where the murthy is made up of mixing 9 poisonous plants) but still the you can drink the milk poured on these Vigrahams.

13. Surli malai, Theni

Surli is a place in TN that is famous for its caves and in one such caves you can find a Shivalingam and a Nandi.

The mud surrounding this cave is just like Vibhoothi or sacred ash of LORD SHIVA and it gets continously accumulated.

14.Senji malai Murugan Temple

Normally curds are always sour in taste but the curd that is poured on the vigraham of this Lord Murugan Temple doesn’t taste sour but it tastes sweet after Abhishekam.

Note:- I know that Some of the facts you can't understand while reading my answer but those who knows Agamas can clearly understand regarding Uthsava Murthy and all as this facts are regarding Agama Temples and worship.

There are more such unique facts about the Temples of Tamil Nadu.

The mysterious rock of Al Naslaa

The rock formation of Al Naslaa is located 50 km south of the Tayma Oasis in Saudi Arabia.

It has been split in half in two parts so perfectly that it looks like the work of a laser blade.

Both parts are balanced on their own tiny pedestal.

The cause of the split is unknown and leaving aside some fanciful hypotheses such as the intervention of aliens, it is assumed that it is due to natural causes, such as sand blown by the wind and periodic rain.

The rock is about 6 meters high and 9 meters wide, and is covered on the south-east side with numerous petroglyphs.

Why do we find so many Sun temples almost in a straight row and that too around 23 degrees North latitude?

What did our ancestors know about the Sun that we do not, today?

What is the mystery behind this pattern?

23.5 degrees North latitude is the Tropic of Cancer.

As we have read in our school books, the Tropic of Cancer is the line up to which the sun moves North in its annual journey.

Sun at the Tropic Of Cancer on June 21

This movement of the sun between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn and its significance has already been discussed by us, in the Rishimukh magazine of January 2010 and April 2010.

The way of living of our ancestors was in harmony with the Cosmos. They conducted their life, the annual and daily activities in their lives, in sync with the flow and rhythm of seasons, Rthu. Their Dharma, way of living, was governed by the Dharma, way of operating,of the Cosmic Nature.

Hence they tracked the sun and other celestial bodies in the sky to read the skies and prepare themselves for the daily, annual and spiritual change that are bound to occur as our planet earth hurtles on its journey through space along with its parent, the Sun and its siblings , the other planets in the solar system.

Each of these temples was specially designed to receive the rays of the sun inside the sanctum sanctorum, garbha graha, and illuminate the idol with a natural glow, on special days, especially the period around Summer Solstice.

June, is thus the time to watch our Sun go to the northern most point in its path in the skies and marvel at the knowledge, the sagacity and the architectural skills of our ancestors, which has found expression in the form of these temples to the Sun all over India and has become one of the traditions of India.
