There was a time when underworld had a strong hold in the industry but as the 90’s decade came to an end many film corporate companies came into existence and funding for films became easy.
But still the underworld connections cannot be ruled out. SRK has openly admitted a conversation with Chota Shakeel stating that he was said to hear a story and then decide for a film. He has also received threat calls from Abu Salem and also received death threats after the movie Happy New Year.
Insiders say that the underworld still holds a grip as film revenue from the overseas has increased a lot. But stars prefer to stay far from them learning from the past that even if you pay protection money you are not secure which was cleared in the Gulshan Kumar murder case.
They do not follow ethics.
