• Kedarnath star, Sara Ali Khan had the most number of fan pages on Instagram for an Indian actress on the social media platform. She was not there in that platform until 2018. She created an insta account later in 2018 just before her first release.

Are South Indian actors better than Bollywood actors?

 Yes!!

My First instance Now, look at her. Her name is Ramya Krishnan. There's no one in India as Versatile as she is (at least not that I can think of). Her career spans over 32 years now and she's acted in more than 200 films, in all south Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam). She's been part of a couple of Hindi movies too.

She dons a complete glam avatar.

And look at this - A typical South Indian House wife

She plays a typical heroine.

Oh No, she has wonderfully portrayed a negative role too. (Which probably is the best in any Indian Language)

Oh God, she comes out as a Goddess

Wait, she plays a devil too

She's a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.

Not to forget, she has done Item numbers too.

Finally, she's played a pivotal role, Shivagami, in the recent movie rage, Bahubali. And most critics agreed that she's the best in the movie.

Sharada - 3 National Awards

Mammotty - 3 National Awards

Shobhana - 2 National Awards

Mohanlal - 2 National Awards

Doesn't mean Bollywood doesn't have good actors, Of course there are a good number of excellent performers.

But, going by the numbers, I feel South Indian together has way- lot more number of good actors than Bollywood at this moment. Also, because, South Indian movies (Not all of them of course) are more content-driven.

Why do Bollywood actors have an aggressive attitude towards A. R. Rahman?

Refused : AR Rahman allegedly refused to work in Kangana Ranaut ‘s movie Emergency.

He allegedly called it propaganda movie.

Ignored : Abhijeet (singer) claims ; Rahman did not attend any music session for Ae Naznin Suno Na

But, his music assistant handled the entire recording and his self esteem was hurt.

Forgot : AR Rahman forgot to mention Sukhwinder Singh’s name during Oscar awards ceremony.

Sukhwinder had sung Jai Ho ( Slumdog Millionaire) that earned national and international awards.

Criticism : Rahman happens to among few ; who introduced electronic and digital music in Bollywood.

He used modern musical instruments rather than traditional ones like Dhol or Shehnai etc.

Jealousy : Well, his superb success earned him many admirers and foes alike.

Many envy his sudden global fame ; wealth and success.

Hurt : AR Rahman’s debut led to end of monopoly of many known musicians ; singers etc.

His songs mesmerized entire India and he became blue eye boy of entire hindi film industry.

In 1995, Ajay Devgn did movies for ₹70 lakhs. He had four releases that year, most of them didn’t work at the box office.

How can we justify Dia Mirza's statement that older actors are bizarre with young actresses?

Rajinikanth was 65 years old and Sonakshi Sinha was around 27. Thats 38 years. She was younger than Rajinis daughters who were 33 and 29.

Most of the audience in TN.did not find it bizzare. Yes the movie was awful but i didnt actually even think about the age gap.

Rajini could play 35–40 even at 65

Ajith was 47 years old. Kajal was 31 years old. The difference was 16 years. Less than.half of the difference between Rajini and Sonakshi. Yet i remember thinking - Ajith looks like her father in the scenes.

Its called perception.

Not everyone knows how old the actors are. On.the Screen, the Actor is a character and the actress is a character. Its the characters whose chemistry is crucial, not the actors.

Ajith (41) and Trisha (28) clicked in this movie. Their characters were apt. It was Vinayak and not Ajith people saw. Vinayak was apt for Trisha.

Ajith plays 37–40 at 41 but the story creates a believable pairing as the age gap.fits.

Kamal was 53 -54 yrs and Trisha 26 - Yet Major Mannar (Character) looks perfectly apt with Ambujakshi (Character).

He plays 38–42 though he is 53–54.

Here Andrea is 29 and Kamal is 60. Nearly the same age difference but here he looks like an Old Lecher seducing a young girl.

Here Kamal looks 60 and plays 60.

Prabhu was 44 and Ramya Krishna 29 at the time of this movie. Yet Prabhu played 32–35 and somehow managed to achieve it. The pairing was believable.

So in the end:

Its the Character and not the Acto. If the Characters are apt, nothing looks weird. If the Characters are not apt, everything looks weird.

Actors like Rajkumar played romantic roles with heroines half his age yet nobody realized this as the characters were apt and his charcter could play 35–40 even though he was himself 65.

Meanwhile Sivaji played romantic roles aged 50 but looked 55 and so looked like the heroines father.

I have used Tamil Cinema because the age differences are much more in Tamil Cinema than Bollywood.
