Sanyogita
Sanyogita also known as Sanyukta/Sanjogita/Kantimati was Princess of Kannauj (Kanyakubja) and she was daughter of Maharaja Jaichand. In Prithviraja Raso, she eloped with Prithviraj Chauhan while his warriors lost their lives fighting her father. This story might be a more fictional version of a matrimonial alliance between the Kings after the war ended up in stalemate. The historicity of Sanyogita is ambiguous.
In Prithviraja Raso, it's mentioned that when she heard they Prithviraj was captured, she lost her life instantly, she couldn't survive a second after hearing the unpleasant news.
Verse 2 (Kavitta):
कवित्त । संजोगिय आसानए । जीव जंजरिग जरिय गत ॥
पंअरीट अगराज । इंद गय हंस सिंग पति ॥
अप्प अप्प अप्पियन । सपन्न जंसन दिठि अप्पन ॥
निभै राज गत काज । काज किन्हौ क्रम चप्पन ॥
चितिय सुचिंत ढंकनि उड़िय । उड़िय परंत परेव गृध ॥
संघरिग जुझ सामंत दह । उगत्ति बंध कविचंद कह ॥
Chhand 1599
Sanyogita sat in deep trance, and her soul parted from her physical body as if burning away all worldly chains. The majestic spirit departed, like a noble lotus or wild swan taking flight. Seeing the ruin of the fearless kingdom and the fulfilling of fateful destiny, her consciousness flew away like a soaring bird. Chand Bardai (the poet) describes how the king's brave warriors fought to the end as fate fulfilled its cycle.
बहु विलाप सब मिलि करहि । नहि सुधि बुद्धि गियान ॥
प्रीय वचन अप्र्रीय सुनि । गये संजोगिय रान ॥
All the attendants gathered and wept bitterly, completely losing their senses and composure. Upon hearing the tragic news regarding her beloved husband, Queen Sanyogita's life departed.
Icchini
Prithviraja’s Chief Queen was not Sanyogita but Parmar Princess of Mount Abu named Icchini. Icchini is alleged to have gone to the battlefield to save her husband and rescue him from Ghurid captivity but she got martyred in the battlefield. She is also alleged to be mother of Govindraja. Although it's not written, she probably tried to save her husband side by side tried to stop Jauhar as it wouldn't happen till Prithviraj was alive and safe but unfortunately she failed. In Prithviraja Raso, she was highly jealous of Sanyogita and Prithviraj’s relationship and she almost left him in anger (in modern version like a divorce) but she didn't leave him when he stopped her on time and begged her to not leave him.
Her rescue mission however is mentioned only in Folklores and no Literary sources are available which mentions the sacrifice of Icchini. Pritha and other queens did Jauhar when the two main queens died quite frankly a tragic and horrible death.
