  • The Motera stadium is situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and is the largest cricket stadium ever built in the world.
  • The Motera stadium will be another structural marvel after the world's tallest statue-the 182-m high Statue of Unity - which was inaugurated last year in Gujarat.
  • The stadium was originally named as the Gujarat Stadium but was later changed to Sardar Patel Stadium as a tribute to the legendary freedom fighter. World's largest stadium Motera in Gujarat has been renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium. The newly refurbished stadium was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind ahead of India vs England 2021 Test match series (3rd Test Match - Pink Ball Test - D/N).
  • The Motera stadium hosted its first ODI in 1984. The reconstruction of the stadium was recently proposed by the Gujarat government.
