- Elections : There are elections in the country every five years, there is no candidate in the elections except Kim Jong-un.
- Owning Cars: In North Korea, only the rich, powerful, and government officials are allowed to own cars, including luxury cars.
- If you commit a crime, the rest of the family goes straight to prison : In North Korea, committing a crime would lead to your innocent family going to jail too.
- There is an abandoned propaganda village near the border with South Korea to attract South Koreans who wish to defect to North Korea. The village is fake, uninhabited and in its center stands a very high tower from which North Korean patriotic music is played daily.
- You will find almost all streets empty in North Korea : In North Korea, almost all passable streets are empty or with very few cars and pedestrians.
- Don't talk to the locals if you are a tourist: if you are a tourist, in fact, you are not allowed to talk to the citizens of this secluded country.
- Western products are not allowed into North Korea as well as products from South Korea: Due to sanctions from the international community, products from the outside world, including K-pop music and products from South Korea, are not allowed into North Korea. Despite the North Korean government's ban on these products, people smuggle them and they are sold on the black market.
- People cannot wear jeans in North Korea : Jeans are not allowed in North Korea because the government deems them to be Western-made clothing.
