I was waiting for one of the cars to cross the junction in Leonberg, Stuttgart, so I could cross the road and go to my office.
But the car stopped near me and the German asked me to cross the road. I said to him Sir please go ahead. He told me No No you please proceed after you I will.
I was surprised with his behaviour but I moved ahead and crossed the road and went to my office.
Still my inner curiosity forced me to asked my German colleague about this incident why he stopped he told me in Germany it's a rule Pedestrian will be given the highest priority where a traffic light is not present and if they find someone intent or near to roadedge they will stop and wait for them to cross.
This made me happy until he asked me what happened in India. I just smiled and asked Do you know Salman Khan? He said no. I again smiled and told we follow first come first go policy.
That's the first shock I faced when I was in Germany on the road.
