I visited Mysore a year ago, and honestly, it completely exceeded my expectations. It has this incredibly relaxed, old-world charm that you don't find in bigger cities. If you're planning a trip, here are the places you absolutely shouldn't miss, based on my personal experience
Mysore Palace: Stunning architecture inside, and breathtaking if you catch it illuminated on a Sunday evening.
Chamundi Hills: Great drive up the hill for a panoramic view of the city and to see the ancient temple and giant Nandi statue.
Brindavan Gardens: Located just outside the city, famous for its terraced lawns and evening musical fountain show.
Gowri’s Sand Sculpture Museum: A unique, quirky stop near Chamundi Hills showcasing over 150 incredibly intricate creations made entirely of sand and water.
St. Philomena’s Church: One of the tallest churches in Asia, featuring beautiful Neo-Gothic architecture and stained glass.
Sri Venugopala Swamy Temple: An incredible 12th-century Hoysala temple that was submerged under the KRS dam for decades and completely rebuilt stone-by-stone right on the scenic backwaters.
