Who is the strangest person in the history of humankind?

An individual hailing from an unrecognized nation.

In 1954, a corporate traveler described as white landed at Tokyo's Haneda Airport to attend a commercial conference. This traveler was fluent in multiple tongues, including Japanese, and stated he had traveled to the country on numerous occasions. Everything appeared perfectly normal up until a border agent looked over his travel document and failed to recognize the nation. The passport had been printed by an unknown state named Taured.

Initially, the agent assumed it was just a lapse in his own knowledge and requested assistance from his manager. The manager was equally baffled, as were all the other personnel on duty. The document itself looked completely authentic and featured various border stamps from global destinations, including Japan. Consequently, they requested that the traveler identify his homeland on a world map.

He laid his finger right on Andorra (the tiny nation nestled between Spain and France). When the agents corrected him and explained that the territory he selected was actually Andorra, he grew incredibly furious and insisted that Taured had a recorded history spanning a millennium! The individual was highly distressed and genuinely appeared convinced that Taured was an actual sovereign state.

They placed a call to the lodging establishment he claimed to have reserved in Tokyo, but the front desk had no such reservation on file. The corporation he was supposedly visiting for his commercial meeting did exist in Tokyo, but they had never heard of any branch or contact in Taured (naturally).

Unsurprisingly, authorities feared this individual could be a fraudster. Therefore, they confined him to a local hotel room with a pair of guards positioned directly in front of the door (which served as the sole way into or out of the space). The accommodation was situated on a high level of a skyscraper hotel and completely lacked any exterior balcony.

To their absolute astonishment, when they unlocked the accommodation the following morning, they found that the traveler had vanished entirely along with his bags and his travel document. How could he have escaped given that the sole doorway was under constant surveillance throughout the night?

Certain individuals argue that this enigmatic figure truly originated from Taured, suggesting that the nation occupies a separate reality and that he had accidentally slipped through a rift in dimensions to arrive at Haneda Airport. An alternative perspective posits that the puzzling figure was a chronological voyager who had mistakenly touched down at the terminal. Most of all, plenty of skeptics argue that the entire event is merely a highly detailed digital legend.

What is the strangest engineering failure in history?

I was still very young back then and had no experience, but my father taught me about it.

In China in the 1970s, most people received very little education.

Many people had the strange idea, but it was essentially a variation of the perpetual motion machine, and most of them were what you might call the first kind of perpetual motion machine.

Many people became obsessed with these ideas, and some lost all their possessions.

At the time, this enthusiasm for perpetual motion machine research spread throughout the country, and in 1977, the People's Daily published three consecutive articles openly condemning perpetual motion machines, even going so far as to criticize the act of organizing specialists to develop them as "the most foolish plan in the world."

In May 1978, we published another article titled "Dispelling the Illusion of Perpetual Motion Machines."

Anyone with even a basic understanding of Chinese politics should know what it means when the People's Daily intervenes.

At that time, a method called "ultrasonic heating," which heated water without using coal, was popular.

Essentially, it was nothing more than a water pipe with a thin sheet of iron welded to one end, placed underwater.

It was said that when cold water flowed through the pipe, the metal plate vibrated, generating what is known as "ultrasonic waves," which then heated the water in the bathtub.

I have never seen the actual device myself. The image was generated by AI.

Theoretically, cold water has potential energy due to gravity, so it is possible that a small amount of heat could be generated.

However, in reality, it had no effect whatsoever.

According to my father, this device was installed in public bathhouses back then, but its only effect was that occasionally someone would suddenly jump out of the bath clutching their bleeding bottom...

I felt it was necessary to record that absurd period in our country's history because I realized that many of our compatriots no longer know about it.

Which would win: the weakest warship in service today or the strongest ship 300 years ago?

One of the most powerful ships in the world in 1720 was HMS Royal Sovereign . She was a hundred-gun ship of the line and the flagship of the Royal Navy.

The heaviest gun on board was the 32-pounder. Its theoretical range was approximately 3,700 meters, but its practical range was 650 meters. They were hand-loaded and fired, and please note that they were aimed either straight ahead or directly to one side.

No turrets here! They can be swung to either side, but their firing arc is rather limited.

There are currently many options for the weakest ship, but one of the weakest ships in the French Navy in terms of firepower is the

French Navy's

training ship. The example shown is the

Guépard Léopard class ).

Its heaviest weapon is the 20mm Oerlikon cannon in a turret. Its effective range is 3000 meters, with a maximum range of 6800 meters.

Note also that one is powered solely by sail, with a speed of approximately 10 to 14 knots. The other is motorized, with a speed of over 25 knots.

So, theoretically, the Cheetah could simply surround HMS Royal Sovereign , strike it from all angles, and well beyond the range of the British guns. Those 20mm cannons would tear through the wooden hull, start fires, and simply devastate the crew.

Canon Oerlikon 20mm

If, by some miracle, a cannonball were to strike the Cheetah it would bore a solid hole in it, but unless it struck something flammable or even hit a hole in the ship to let water in, it would be unlikely to sink it.

There were even angles where the English gun couldn't even hit the Cheetah , but the 20mm guns easily raked HMS Royal Sovereign from any angle. A 20mm would probably be able to hit the stern and penetrate through the bow of HMS Royal Sovereign , and ships of the line had few guns at the bow or stern.

There simply is no competition.

What is the strongest thing in the universe?

The crust of a neutron star.

Stars don't have a surface. They just get thicker with depth.

But neutron stars are exceptions. They do have a surface, and it's made of the strongest material in the universe— nuclear pasta 🍝.

It is 10 billion times stronger than steel. So strong that you could hang the entire mass of Earth with one cubic meter of nuclear pasta. In fact, you could hang a few Jupiters before the it starts cracking.

The secret behind its strength is, while normal atoms are joined by electrostatic forces, nuclear pasta (mostly made up of neutrons) is held together by strong force, which is ~1,000,000 times stronger in this case.

It’s called nuclear pasta because it really does look like pasta! Let me explain..

There's a myth that neutron stars are entirely made up of neutrons. That actually happens only at their cores. In the outer layers, the pressure is quite low enough that some protons can still remain in the nucleus.

These protons, being positively charged, strongly repel each other, opposing the strong nuclear force trying to stick them together, which leads to the formation of all the sorts of weird shapes—

  • Gnocchi — roughly spherical blobs.
  • Spaghetti — long rod-like nuclei .🍝
  • Lasagna — flat nuclear sheets . 🍮
  • Bucatini — tubes with voids.
  • Swiss cheese — voids inside neutron matter.🧀.

But it isn't tasty.

Who was the strongest character in Mahabharata?

Mahabharata is considered as one of the greatest wars in the Indian history. It was fought for 18 days and many great warriors participated in this war from both, the Pandavas’ and Kauravas’ sides. Let us look at the 10 greatest warriors who participated in this war.

8. Dhrishtadyumna

Class - Atirathi

Dhrishtadyumna was Draupadi’s brother. He was the Senapati of the Pandavas’ army for all 18 days of the war. He was born with the goal to kill Dronacharya, which he eventually did.

7. Ashwatthama

Class - Maharathi

Ashwatthama was Dronacharya’s son. He too was a great warrior who fought from the Kauravas’ side. He became a chiranjivi after the war.

6. Abhimanyu

Class - Maharathi

Abhimanyu was the son of Arjuna and Subhadra. He was a young yet very skillfull warrior. He was killed after fighting many warriors at the same time inside the Chakravyuh. His son Parikshit became the king after Yudhishthira.

Who are the actual top 10 strongest warriors in the Mahabharata based on skills?

If we include all the warriors purely based on feats and skills. This time I will also include divine avatars on my list!

1) SHREE KRISHNA.

To quote a very simple statment from Harivamsha Purana chapter 97.

In that way, in Kunti’s presence, the lord Madhusudana played with the wielder of the Gandiva and defeated himPurushottama defeated Drona, Drona’s son, Kripa, Karna, Bhimasena, Suyodhana and all their assembled followers. Desiring to accomplish what was agreeable to Babhru,”*' the lord, the wielder of the conch shell, chakra and sword abducted the daughter of the king of Souvira. For the sake of Venudari, Purushottama conquered the entire earth, with all its horses, chariots and elephants.

He defeated everyone on the list. Hence he's at the top position.

2 PRABHU BALARAMA.

Because he's BALARAMA. He's just as mighty as Shree Krishna and the only reason he's not on the top, is because Lord Shree Krishna has more feats.

3 PARSHURAMA.

He was still arguably stronger than all the warriors in Mahabharata except the Shree Krishna and maybe Balarama. Even in a weakened state, he stomped Prime Bhisma.

4 ) DRONACHARYA.

By the time,he fought in Kurukshetra War. He was in his late eighties. He still defeated Arjuna, Abhimanyu and several other warriors. Absolutely destroyed them several times. Without Divine warriors. Prime young Dronacharya would be on top of the list.

5) ARJUNA.

Usually claimed to be Mahabharata’s best warriors, if divine avatars are not included.

6) KARNA.

Karna usually had some inconsistencies, but over time his feats made him equal to Arjuna interms of prowess.

As stated by Brahmadeva and agreed upon by Indradeva.

On seeing that Prajapati, the self-creating one, had arrived, the gods spoke to him. ‘O god! Let this struggle for victory between these two lions among men be pacified.’ Hearing this, Maghavan758 prostrated himself before the grandfather and said, ‘Let the entire universe not be destroyed because of Karna and Arjuna. O self-creating one! You had earlier said that Vijaya and the other one are identical. O illustrious one! I am bowing down before you.

Karna Parva Chapter 1213(63) critical edition Mahabharata.

He's in this position purely because of inconsistencies.

7) ASHVATHMA.

Behold the warrior with the most potential. But he's limited because of a simple reason.

As Bhisma explained.

Drona’s son is a great archer and is superior to all archers. He is colourful in the field of battle and is a maharatha who is firm in wielding weapons. O great king! When released from his bow, his arrows are like those of the wielder of the Gandiva himself and are linked together in one continuous line. But I cannot count this brave one in the list of supreme rathas, though this greatly famous one is capable of burning up the three worlds. He has accumulated anger and energy through austerities, while he dwelled in a hermitage. And since he was generous, Drona bestowed celestial weapons on him. O bull among the Bharata lineage! O supreme among kings! But he has a single great taint and because of that, I do not regard him as a ratha or an atiratha. He loves his own life too much. This brahmana always wishes for a long life. There is no one who is equal to him in either army. On a single chariot, he is capable of slaying even the army of the gods. Through the slapping of his arms, this handsome one can cause mountains to be shattered. The brave one has an infinite number of qualities. He is a striker and his radiance is terrible. He roams around and cannot be tolerated. He is like the god of death, with a staff in his hand. He is greatly intelligent and has the neck of a lion. He is like the angry fire that rages at the end of an era. O descendant of the Bharata lineage! He is capable of pacifying what is left of this war.

Ratha-Atiratha-Samkhya Parva chapter 827(164)

He loved his life a bit too much and hence failed to exert his true prowess. He would be above Arjuna and Karna if he truly tried.

8) PITAMAHA BHISMA!

Some of you might be wondering why I have put this legend in the 8th place.

Well because his feats pale in comparision to all others and obviously Shree Hari avatars. He lead the Kauravas for ten days, but never managed to defeat or surpass Arjuna.

Ashvathama and Karna at certain times proved their valour to be better than Arjuna. Drona outright defeated everyone and even gods were terrified of the Brahmana’s strength.

9) BHAGDATTA.

Super old veteran. But still rivalled Arjuna. Ofcourse with the Vaishnava astra, he would be much higher in the list. But without it, he's still comparable to Arjuna.

10) BHIMA.

He fought 3 Akshouhinis single handedly and defeated many major warriors.
