Is it true that cheetahs don't attack or eat humans? If so, why not?

Yes, cheetahs do not attack humans. Although they are predators with one of the highest success rates, we humans are not their intended prey.

We are simply too big to be attacked by cheetahs, although there are some cases of these felines attacking people, the headlines are:

Zookeeper's blood-curdling screams as she is mauled by cheetah in terrifying attack... but survives

Animal lover mauled to death by cheetah

Zookeeper attacked by a cheetah during a daily walk in Ohio

While there are some reports of cheetahs attacking humans, it simply doesn't happen as frequently as attacks by other big cats. The fastest land animal is a mostly docile creature and usually chooses other animals over us.

However, this doesn't mean they won't attack. A mother with cubs will protect her babies at all times and may attack a human if that human threatens her cubs.

Aside from that, it's mostly true that cheetahs don't attack people. And as for eating us, there's no evidence of that happening.
