Sakshi Malik was a normal model until she got featured in the song ‘Bom Diggy Diggy’ from ‘Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety’. This song changed her life completely. She has over 1.7 million followers on her Instagram account.


  • Priya Prakash Varrier

Priya Prakash Varrier doesn’t need any introduction. She got famous after a song from her movie went viral on the internet. She has over 6.2 million followers on her Instagram account.


  • Sanjeev Srivastava

Sanjeev Shrivastava from Madhya Pradesh is renowned as the ‘Dancing Uncle’ across the country. His dancing video on ‘Aap Ke Aa Jane Se’ from the 1987 film ‘Khudgarz’ went viral on the internet. Even big celebrities had tweeted about his video.

What should every Indian know about Rajasthan and the people of Rajasthan?

 

  1. Not only Marwari people live in Rajasthan, people from Mewari, Hadoti, Shekhawati and different regions live here.
  2. We do not use camels to travel from one place to another, we also have vehicles.
  3. We don't eat Dal Baati Churma every day.
  4. We don't marry in childhood; this was the case a long time ago. Even then, marriages were still common in childhood, but daughters-in-law always went to their in-laws' house only after they reached 18 or 20 years of age.
  5. Rajasthan isn't just desert. Yes, there's the Thar Desert, but also the Aravalli Lakes (Udaipur), and the Sariska (ranthambore).
  6. Yes, the temperature here is quite hot during the summer, but during the winter, Rajasthan becomes one of India's coldest states.The temperature in Mount Abu comes very close to 0°.

7. Not every Rajasthanis always wear turbans. They are worn only on special occasions, and the old generation were worn daily.

8. Not all Rajasthanis are rich.Here too there are office goers, farmers and shopkeepers.

9. We (girls) love Ghoomar But it is not necessary that there should be Ghoomar dance in every wedding.

10. Yes, there is a practice of veil here, it is only for respect, at present there is no force on anyone.My mother, grandmother and aunt all wear veil but there are some occasions like marriage etc. where they do not wear veil, so it is not necessary for anything like that.

11. And most importantly, we have plenty of water here, so much so that you can take a bath three times a day.

  2. We dont add “Sa” everywhere like salt & spice…. Ji Sri is also used.
