What are the top ten warriors in Ramayana?

 1.) Lord Ram :

The complete manifestation of Vishnu who killed powerful demons like Tarakasura, Viradha, Kabandha, Maricha and Subhahu in Dandaka forest with support of Lakshmana. Killed Khara, Dhoosana along with 14000 rakshasas in Janasthana single handedly. He possessed the power to annihilate armes of any size single handedly. Defeated and killed the greatest threat to the gods Ravana and Kumbhkarana. Defeated Ravana thrice before killing him in the fourth attempt. Killed Vali with a single arrow.

2.) Lord Hanuman :

Like Rama he too had the power to obliterate armies of any scale. He was the incarnation of Shiva and was immune to all celestial weapons due to Brahma,’ s boon. He had the unique power to choose the time of his death. Defeated Ravana with a single punch. Broke the mighty spike of Kumbhkarana by which he defeated Indra and Yama and overpowered him heavily making him flee from the fight. Infalliable Brahmashirastra of Meghnad which killed 67 crore vanaras had no effect on Hanuman.

3.) Lakshmanji :

He was the complete incarnation of Sheshnag who is also regarded as a form of Vishnu. He killed demons like Indrajit and Atikaya in combat and aided Rama in killing thousands of demons capable of invoking deadly illusions. Overpowered Ravana twice in plain archery once even with his Brahma armour. He tormented Kumbhkarana with his arrows who was unscathed even by Indra,’ s Vajra. Could have killed Ravana, Indrajit and the entire rakshasa army using Brahmastra had Rama not stopped him.

4. Bhagwan Parshurama :

He was the partial incarnation of Vishnu who had bested Kartavirya Arjuna in combat. He was the direct pupil of Mahadev and recieved all celestial weapons from him including Trishul and weapons of Trinity i.e Pashupatastra, Vaishnavastra and Narayanastra. Wiped the kshatriyas clean of earth 21 times with his Vijaya bow. With his invincible axe, Parshurama eliminated literally 100 "Akṣauhiṇis" soldiers who were guarding Kartivirya Arjuna.

5. Kartavirya Arjuna :

He was the incarnation of Sudharsana chakra and disciple of Dattatreya. He remained an undefeated warrior before facing Parshurama. Kartavirya Arjuna had defeated Indra and the 33 gods riding on a single chariot. He had defeated Indra and humiliated him in front of his wife Sachi devi. He had boon of all time invincibility except Vishnu. Kartavirya,’ s greatest achievement was defeating and capturing Ravana. He was strong enough to stop the flow of river Narmada using his arms.

6. Indrajeet :

The eldest son of Ravana and a master of scorcery and black magic. No one can defeat Indrajit once he finishes Nikumbhala sacrifice. He after completing Nikumbhala sacrifice single handedly knocked out Rama, Lakshmana and the entire vanara army unconscious and killed 67 crore vanaras using infalliable Brahmashirastra. Defeated and captured Indra in battle hence was named Indrajit. Fought a terrific battle with Lakshman for three days. During the final stages of the battle between Indrajit and Lakshmana , Indra along with all the celestial gods protected Lakshmana.

It needed aindrastra with the name of lord Rama to defeat and kill indrajit.

7. Ravana :

The mighty king of Lanka who defeated Indra and 33 gods in group attack and tanked Indra’s vajra and Vishnu’s disc. Overpowered Hanuman in direct combat and In the war with Ram, he defeated Sugriva and other vanaras like Nila. He was a marksman of every divine missile and possessed Brahma armour, Pashupatastra, Brahma shakti etc. Overall he was the most powerful demon if we consider both physical strength and weapons but Indrajit,’s boons give him the edge. He was stronger than Lord Lakshmana and could defeat him if you remove divine nature of Lord Lakshmana.

8. Atikaya :

Atikaya was the son of Ravana and an excellent archer and warrior who inflicted terror among vanaras by his mere presence. He was extremely destructive in battlefield. Atikaya countered Indra’s Vajra and Varunapasha with his ordinary arrows. He put up a good might with Laxmana. He was invulnerable to all of Laxmana’s arrows as he gained the Brahma Kavach and even made Laxmana unconscious with a snake arrow.

9. Kumbhkarana :

Physically Kumbhkarana was the strongest rakshasa from Ravana,’ s sid. He vanquished Indra by his brute strength and crushed him. Defeated Yamraj and other gods by his mighty spike. He struck Hanuman with his spike and made him vomit blood. Crushed both Angad and Sugriv in battle. The arrow which killed Vali didn’t harm Kumbhkarna at all. It took Rama four celestial weapons including Roudrastra, 2 Aindrastra and Vayavyastra back to back to kill Kumbhkarana. Roudrastra of Rama had no effect on him.

10. Vali :

He was the son of Indra and a very powerful vanara empowered by Brahma,’ s boon who had bested Sugriva in wrestling combat. Defeated Ravana and dragged him across four oceans by holding him in his armpits. Killed powerful demons like Mayavi and Dundhubi who was even feared by Varun deva and Himavat mountain.

What are the top ten places you want to travel to and why?

1 - IRELAND AND THE MOORS

Because I have a certain connection with this beautiful country. Something I don’t know why.

2 - AUSTRIA AND THE ALPS

This could have stemmed from my fascination with the place after I watched ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Heidi’ in my childhood.

3 - NORWAY AND THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

I don’t quite know how I would react if and when I see the Northern Lights for the first time. I might just break down into tears. To me, they are the most magnificent of nature’s many wonders.

4 - PARIS IN THE WINTER

Because this has always been the backdrop of every romantic dream I’ve ever had. Paris. Snow. Me. Him. Bliss. ^_^

5 - SWEDEN AND ITS UNICORN LANDSCAPE

Be it summer or winter, Sweden never fails to impress me with its sheer beauty.

6 - BATH AND ITS OLD WORLD CHARM

To me, this is one of England’s prettiest cities. I grew up reading a lot of British authors and this is the kind of mental image I had while reading those books. Quaint cottages with tiled roofs and chimneys and little gardens in the front.

7 - SWITZERLAND AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT

Do I even have to explain why this is on my list? OMG! This is paradise on earth!

8 - AMSTERDAM

Amsterdam to me has always been synonymous with romance. Every frame of the place looks postcard-worthy.

9 - TUSCANY AND ITS SUNSETS

*sigh* And all this despite the fact that I don’t drink. I could stare at those sunsets forever!

10 - SCOTLAND!

I guess I have a thing for places with meadows and little stone houses and lakes and sea and cliffs.

Who are the actual top 10 strongest warriors in the Mahabharata based on skills?

If we include all the warriors purely based on feats and skills. This time I will also include divine avatars on my list!

1) SHREE KRISHNA.

To quote a very simple statment from Harivamsha Purana chapter 97.

In that way, in Kunti’s presence, the lord Madhusudana played with the wielder of the Gandiva and defeated himPurushottama defeated Drona, Drona’s son, Kripa, Karna, Bhimasena, Suyodhana and all their assembled followers. Desiring to accomplish what was agreeable to Babhru,”*' the lord, the wielder of the conch shell, chakra and sword abducted the daughter of the king of Souvira. For the sake of Venudari, Purushottama conquered the entire earth, with all its horses, chariots and elephants.

He defeated everyone on the list. Hence he's at the top position.

2 PRABHU BALARAMA.

Because he's BALARAMA. He's just as mighty as Shree Krishna and the only reason he's not on the top, is because Lord Shree Krishna has more feats.

3 PARSHURAMA.

He was still arguably stronger than all the warriors in Mahabharata except the Shree Krishna and maybe Balarama. Even in a weakened state, he stomped Prime Bhisma.

4 ) DRONACHARYA.

By the time,he fought in Kurukshetra War. He was in his late eighties. He still defeated Arjuna, Abhimanyu and several other warriors. Absolutely destroyed them several times. Without Divine warriors. Prime young Dronacharya would be on top of the list.

5) ARJUNA.

Usually claimed to be Mahabharata’s best warriors, if divine avatars are not included.

6) KARNA.

Karna usually had some inconsistencies, but over time his feats made him equal to Arjuna interms of prowess.

As stated by Brahmadeva and agreed upon by Indradeva.

On seeing that Prajapati, the self-creating one, had arrived, the gods spoke to him. ‘O god! Let this struggle for victory between these two lions among men be pacified.’ Hearing this, Maghavan758 prostrated himself before the grandfather and said, ‘Let the entire universe not be destroyed because of Karna and Arjuna. O self-creating one! You had earlier said that Vijaya and the other one are identical. O illustrious one! I am bowing down before you.

Karna Parva Chapter 1213(63) critical edition Mahabharata.

He's in this position purely because of inconsistencies.

7) ASHVATHMA.

Behold the warrior with the most potential. But he's limited because of a simple reason.

As Bhisma explained.

Drona’s son is a great archer and is superior to all archers. He is colourful in the field of battle and is a maharatha who is firm in wielding weapons. O great king! When released from his bow, his arrows are like those of the wielder of the Gandiva himself and are linked together in one continuous line. But I cannot count this brave one in the list of supreme rathas, though this greatly famous one is capable of burning up the three worlds. He has accumulated anger and energy through austerities, while he dwelled in a hermitage. And since he was generous, Drona bestowed celestial weapons on him. O bull among the Bharata lineage! O supreme among kings! But he has a single great taint and because of that, I do not regard him as a ratha or an atiratha. He loves his own life too much. This brahmana always wishes for a long life. There is no one who is equal to him in either army. On a single chariot, he is capable of slaying even the army of the gods. Through the slapping of his arms, this handsome one can cause mountains to be shattered. The brave one has an infinite number of qualities. He is a striker and his radiance is terrible. He roams around and cannot be tolerated. He is like the god of death, with a staff in his hand. He is greatly intelligent and has the neck of a lion. He is like the angry fire that rages at the end of an era. O descendant of the Bharata lineage! He is capable of pacifying what is left of this war.

Ratha-Atiratha-Samkhya Parva chapter 827(164)

He loved his life a bit too much and hence failed to exert his true prowess. He would be above Arjuna and Karna if he truly tried.

8) PITAMAHA BHISMA!

Some of you might be wondering why I have put this legend in the 8th place.

Well because his feats pale in comparision to all others and obviously Shree Hari avatars. He lead the Kauravas for ten days, but never managed to defeat or surpass Arjuna.

Ashvathama and Karna at certain times proved their valour to be better than Arjuna. Drona outright defeated everyone and even gods were terrified of the Brahmana’s strength.

9) BHAGDATTA.

Super old veteran. But still rivalled Arjuna. Ofcourse with the Vaishnava astra, he would be much higher in the list. But without it, he's still comparable to Arjuna.

10) BHIMA.

He fought 3 Akshouhinis single handedly and defeated many major warriors.

Which are the top 10 movies of Amrish Puri?

In terms of purely acting and content perspective i like the following films of Amrish Puri

Aakrosh (1980)- This is the first film which I saw in childhood where I saw Amrish Puri in a positive role that too in an art film. It opened my horizon to his acting range. The film won 6 filmfares and 1 National award.

Ardh Satya (1983)- Another National award winning movie with exemplary performances by both the Puris (Om and Amrish). Very hard hitting and realistic cop movie with Amrish playing a sadistic and machoistic and egotistic father who makes you hate him without him being outrightly villainous.

Party (1984)- A very subdued performance by Amrish Puri in a film based on a play and situated in a single night story. Even though I don't always agree with the ideology of the film it provides fodder for thought to the viewers. Meant for intellectual stimulation rather than entertainment.

Mr. India (1987)- One of the most popular performances of Amrish Puri where he played a Hitleresque character with lines like Mogambo Khush Hua and Hail Mogambo. The role could have been caricaturish in the hand of a lesser actor.

Gardish (1993)- One of his best and most emotional performance along with Jackie Shroff. Remake of National awards winning Malyalam film Kireedam, Gardish is a very strong dramatic film where Amrish Puri plays a police constable who want to see his son join forces as an officer. The scenes between him and Jackie are the highlight of the film.

Ghatak (1996)- Another dramatic role of Amrish Puri particularly his scene before his death in the film are emotional. He provides emotional anchor to the film. He won a filmfare award for best supporting actor for the film

Viraasat (1997)- He was in the film for about 40–45 minutes and by the end of the film he is the character who stays with you. Such mesmerizing performance by Amrish Puri. He overshdowed everyone in the film. Remake of National award winning Thevar Magan, Amrish Puri played the role played by Shivaji Ganeshan, and he won a filmfare best supporting actor award for the film.

Suraj ka Saatvan Ghoda (1992)- Negative role but not typical one, his performance adds a lots of layers and nuances to the film and character. He won 2 international awards for best actor for this film. Very underrated film

Damini (1993)- Who can forget the Dhai Kilo ka haath of Sunny Paji. But it was possible because the opponent was equally strong. One of the best courtroom dramas with career best performances by Sunny and Meenakshi Seshadri. Amrish Puri plays the perfect spoilsport in the film.

Chachi 420 (1997)- it was so refreshing to see him do delightful comedy in the film which he is not generally associated with. His performance and his chemistry with his secretary Om Puri is hilarious.

Honourable mentions: Meri Jung (1985) (liked his performance very much but didn't like the film), Dilwale Dulhaniya le jayenge (1995) (one of the memorable father roles he did I like him very much in such roles especially in mid films like Mohabbat (1985) , Gadar ek Prem Katha (2001) (a bit melodramatic but effective)
