- Hijack : On 10th April 1993, around 53 passengers of flight ic-436 were biding their time during a normal flight from Lucknow to Delhi.
- Within few moments after take off; suddenly four young men announced that they were going to hijack plane.
- They asked everyone to sit quiet ;other wise, plane would be blown with a bottle full of explosive material.
- Students : These four man turned out to be students of Lucknow College for Arts and Craft (Lucknow University) - better known for its budding painters and sculptors.
- They wanted change in course; postponement of exams and cancellation of an award to their professor.

- One of the students kept on narrating students’ problems before passengers.
- Strange : Amusingly, passengers paid no attention to them and kept on biding their time.
- Meanwhile, flight flew in circles around Lucknow and nearby areas for 3 hours.
- Soon hijackers announced ; plane was about to land.
- But, passengers were not pleased.
- After all, passengers had to miss important professional and personal commitments for no fault of theirs .
- Surprise : All of a sudden, they overpowered four of them and gave them a severe beating for creating ruckus.
- Well, all four of them were arrested by cops and rusticated from university.
