HE REFUSED TO BECOME PM !!!!
In 1966, he was requested to become the PM of India 🇮🇳 after Lal Bahadur Shastri Sir’s death. He could have easily sat on the chair. But no !!!
He refused !!! He recommended Mrs Indira Gandhi’s name.
Presenting the man who turned down the request to become Prime Minister, Mr. K Kamraj, who was CM of TN from 1954 to 1963. Once he visited his old mother in his native village. He saw that this was the only house having a tap. He asked ,”Who installed this tap in my house?”
“Sir, it is a municipality tap”, replied the Collector, an IAS officer.
“Remove this tap immediately and install it for the village. No misuse of govt property just because this lady is the CM’s mother!!!”
The tap was removed. This was the type of man he was.
And what reason did he give to refuse the Prime Minister’s chair ???
He only uttered 5 words.
