How has Katrina Kaif managed to stay popular despite a string of unsuccessful films at the box office?

Katrina Kaif may not be a good actress at all. But her career graph has remained really high for the most part of her career. She has carefully chosen male centric films which became major hits because of the male hero but she has garnered multiple hits one after another.

She has around 23 hits in Hindi films starting from Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya and Sarkar in 2005 but she gained stardom in 2007–08 with back to back 6 hits- Namastey London, Partner, Welcome, Apne, Race and Singh is King. She was part of the best phase of Akshay Kumar and then she was part of the best phase of Salman Khan when she gave 11 hits between 2010–14 with films like Raajneeti, Tees Mar Khan (critically bashed but commercially successful), Ek tha Tiger, Jab tak Hai Jaan, Zindagi na Milegi Dobara, Dhoom 3, Mere Brother ki Dulhan, Bang Bang etc. She gave big hits like Ajab Prem ki gajab kahani and Raajneeti with Ranbir Kapoor. She also gave commendable performance in another hit film New York

It is since 2015 that her career show a slump though she gave a blockbuster in Tiger Zinda hai but due to the slump in Salman and SRK after this affected her career badly. Salman and Katrina worked in two semi hits Bharat and Tiger 3 which though successful were underperformers. SRK’s zero was a disaster and Akshay had his last major success in Sooryavanshi as lead with Katrina. With Salman and Akshay struggling themselves Katrina doesn't have many options now and with she turned 40+ her limited acting skills won't help her much in getting character oriented roles. Her experimental films like Phone booth and Merry Christmas failed.
