There was a time when people used to call Vidya Balan 'wretched', the actress told the bitter truth of life!

  • Very few people know that Vidya Balan's parents were not at all sure about her career options. Coming from a strict South Indian family, it was difficult for Vidya to persuade her parents to let her act in films.

Now Vidya reveals that somewhere she feels that her mother herself harbored the dream of becoming an actress and passed it on to her. She also shared that she was eight years old when 'Tezaab' released and was mesmerized by Madhuri Dixit's dance in the song 'Ek Do Teen' from the film.

  • Recalling auditioning for TV shows during her college, Vidya said, “However the first show I was signed for never worked. That's when I got 'Hum Paanch'. My parents were okay with it as they felt TV is a safe option and the show is a comedy and a clean family watch. He further added, “Looking back, I think everything went well. After leaving the show, I started doing ad films and it has been my favourite. I think if I had not quit TV, I would not have been doing anything else."
  • Vidya told that she was offered a role in a Malayalam film opposite Mohanlal but unfortunately the project was cancelled. But once the rumors started spreading about the canceled film, people started calling him "wretched", due to which many projects were dropped from his hand.
