What is the brightest object in the universe?

Among the brightest objects is him, the Quasar.

They are essentially supermassive black holes, with millions of solar masses.

But how come a black hole is also the brightest object in the universe?

In reality, it is not the black hole itself that is luminous, but rather the material orbiting it, heated to millions of degrees by gravitational interactions. It is thought that it manages to reach temperatures high enough to emit the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from gamma rays to radio waves.

So it's not enough to be a black hole, it must also be a black hole while eating its accretion disk.

These celestial bodies are so blinding that they outshine all the stars in a galaxy put together.

Furthermore, quasars are characterized by two beams of gamma rays emanating from the two sides of the accretion disk, one above and the other below.
