What are some interesting facts about Einstein that most people don't know?

 1 - The scientist did not consider himself an atheist, but rather an agnostic;

2 – His great ideas and discoveries stemmed from scenarios he created in his mind, not in the laboratory;

3 – As a child, he spoke very slowly and had learning difficulties;

4 – The doctor who performed Einstein's autopsy stole his brain and kept it in a jar for 20 years;

5 – The money he won from the Nobel Prize ended up with his ex-wife when they divorced;

6 - Israel wanted the scientist to be president of the country, but he refused to accept the position;

7 – He didn't get into university on his first try;

8 – His Nobel Prize has nothing to do with the Theory of Relativity, but rather with his discoveries about the photoelectric effect;

9 – Known for having a poor memory, Einstein had difficulty remembering names, dates, and phone numbers;

10 – The equation E = mc2 was originally published by the Austrian physicist Friedrich Hasenohrl;

11 – Einstein's eyes are still preserved in New York;

12 – Master Yoda from Star Wars was inspired by Albert Einstein;

13 – The scientist never owned a car nor learned to drive in his entire life;

14 – Einstein's brain had a parietal lobe that was 15% larger than average;

15 – Einstein's favorite scientist was Galileo Galilei;

16 – Einstein was totally against racial segregation, and called the phenomenon a “white people's disease.” He worked as an activist for anti-racism causes throughout his life;

17 – The physicist was one of the people who signed a petition against the German law that banned homosexuals;

18 – Some American officials, such as FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, even came to believe that Einstein was a Soviet spy;

19 – In addition to betraying his wife and refusing to acknowledge her scientific work, Einstein made her sign a contract in which she agreed to leave the room or stop talking whenever he asked. The scientist also did not share any household chores with her;

20 – Even though he considered himself a pacifist, Einstein wrote to President Roosevelt, asking him to prioritize the development of the atomic bomb before the German Nazis did so;

21 – To avoid having to enlist, Einstein renounced his German citizenship in 1896 and remained without citizenship for five years. He then acquired Swiss citizenship in 1901, Austrian citizenship in 1911, and American citizenship in 1940.

Was Einstein really as intelligent as we think?

 Prepare to make yourself feel terrible:

Albert Einstein published four papers in 1905, the Anus Mirabilis papers. These four papers changed our understanding of the universe, time, and matter:

  1. A paper that played a significant role in the development of quantum theory: On a heuristic perspective on the generation and transformation of light.
  2. A paper that provided empirical evidence for atomic theory: on the motion of small particles in a stationary liquid.
  3. A paper that sheds light on special relativity: on the electrodynamics of moving objects.
  4. A groundbreaking paper including the famous formula (E=mc^2) that equates energy and mass: Does the inertia of an object depend on its energy?

Albert published all of the above in just one year, when he was only 26 years old.

What are some surprising facts about Albert Einstein?

 Einstein loved to sail, viewing it as a way to relax and think, but he was notoriously bad at it.

He couldn't swim and frequently capsized his boat, named Tümmler (German for "porpoise"), often needing to be rescued by his neighbors in Long Island. He didn't let his lack of skill or inability to swim deter him.

Also, Einstein did not wear socks.

He found them unnecessary and felt they were an annoyance, often bragging to friends about getting away with not wearing them, even in formal settings.

So we can deduce that, while capcizing frequently, at least he never got his socks wet

“THE NEW ALBERT EINSTEIN”

Sabrina Gonzalez Pasterski (born June 3, 1993) is an American theoretical physicist from Chicago, of Cuban-American origin, with a particular interest in high-energy physics. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and then earned a PhD from Harvard University and a PCTS Postdoctoral Fellow at Princeton University. Snopes magazine labeled her “the new Albert Einstein” due to her incredible achievements at a young age. Her first work, in fact, led to the discovery of the “spin memory effect”, which can be used to detect or verify the net effects of gravitational waves. She then completed the “Pasterski–Strominger–Zhiboedov Triangle”, for electromagnetic memory, which was later cited in a 2016 work by Stephen Hawking, giving her incredible visibility. In 2003, at the age of 10, she took her first flying lesson; in 2005, at age 12, he co-piloted the FAA1 at the Oshkosha Airshow, and in 2006 he began building his own kit airplane, which he flew in 2009.
