What is the most underrated Bollywood movie?

There are a lot of movies created in bollywood that do not make a big name at the box office but are surely fabulous creations. Here’s a list of some amazing movies that didn’t get the response it actually deserved:

  • Masaan- One of the best movies ever made in bollywood. How one mistake destroys the life of a girl, how a person goes on after losing his beloved and how everything hails down to a crematorium, is what the movie describes.
  • Sadda Adda- A film about the life of six bachelors striving hard to find their way in life. Six people with different ambitions and different proffessions - an actor, an IAS aspirant (who commits suicide) , a salesman, an architect, a MCA student and a 12th class fail under one single roof and how they finally achieve success despite of several failures.
  • Rocket Singh- One of the finest movies with a great plot. A B Com. graduate with 35% marks goes on to become a salesman in a computer assembling company. Later on he finds out about the corruptions taking place. Being thrown to the ground on many occassions, he finally achieves success with the mantra that business is nothing but people and how to satisfy them, rather than numbers.
  • Iqbal- A handicapped boy unable to hear or talk aspires to represent Indian Cricket team as a pace bowler. He is rejected by institutes, pulled down due to corruption and bribe but he rises, finally fulfilling his dream.
  • Dharam Sankat Mein- Its about the life of a hindu who later discovers that he was born muslim but was later on adopted by hindu parents. It shows the pressure a teenager faces at different stages in life. Its about first love, about punishments, about internet, about social tortures and about four kids finally finding their way.
  • Page 3 - It is by far the most realistic movie ever made in bollywood. It shows the darker side of the film industry and the people related to this industry. It shows the hardships of a journalist who was appointed the job of covering the parties and gatherings of this industry and publish these findings in the Page 3 of newspaper. In the journey, she unravells the harsh reality of film industry and associated people and how carefully they wear beautifully carved masks to deceive our society.
  • Gippi- Its about the life of a fat teenager girl who is mocked everywhere by friends and relatives. She finds it hard to make friends, avoids gatherings and hates taking part in any activities because she knows everyone would tease her. However, she ends up finding out that it is not about looks, it’s actually about who you really are and what do you stand for.
  • Gayab- Its about the life of a person who is ignored by everyone. His parents dont care about him, his beloved doesnt even know he exists and on top of all everyone mocks him. As a result he asks god to make him invisible and to his surprise his wish is granted. Now he is totally free to do anything he wants. But in the process he discovers emotional imbalance and finally settles down as a hero helping people as a messiah.
  • Dhobi Ghat- Perhaps the best movie that Aamir Khan has acted in. Its about the life of four individuals- a NRI photographer, a painter, a laundry boy and a deceased housewife.
