Goddess Savitri is none other than Goddess Saraswati, the Brahma Patni herself! She is (that aspect of) Brahma Patni which is associated with Light and Creation. She is the Creator Goddess, who is the Consort of the Creator God, Brahma.
To Lord Shiva, she is related as his mother. Lord Shiva who was born from the forehead of Lord Brahma, is the son of Brahma and Saraswati(Savitri).
