 Things I was convinced were true as a kid -

• Manisha Koirala and Urmila Matondkar were actually the same person.

• It rained whenever God was cleaning His house.
• When no one was watching, toys came alive and talked to each other.

• People who wore glasses were automatically intelligent.
• Long ago, animals could speak our language and have conversations with humans.

• If you killed a snake, you had to crush its eyes too. Otherwise, it would capture your picture in its eyes, and its wife would come after you to take revenge. 😂

• O-positive blood could be donated to everyone.
• If I missed someone a lot, they would start getting hiccups because I was thinking about them.
• The people on CID were actually real-life CID officers who solved real cases.

• If I accidentally swallowed a seed, a tree would grow inside me.

• If I ever reached the clouds, I could actually eat them. 😂

What is the biggest misconception you had in your childhood?

 Well I had quite wild perspective on the world when I was a kid. Here are some misconceptions that me and my friends had in those days that I can remember.

• RSS is a textile company which is famous for manufacturing khaki shorts.

• Manmohan Singh had throat cancer in his younger days that’s the reason why he couldn’t speak.

• Gandhi was the main reason behind creation of Pakistan (We hated Gandhi way too much in our childhoods.)

• Hollywood movies are all about sex,nudity and kissing :P

• Even beggars in countries like USA are richer than average Indian common man.

• By 2015, India will be declared as a “developed country”.

• If you don’t wear underwear regularly, your balls will get separated from your body and fall to the ground due to constant hanging.

• Until I was 10, I always pictured Sardar Patel as a strong body builder and thought thats why he is called as Iron man of India.

• Pakistan is at the verge of bankruptcy and will again merge with India soon.

• Actor themselves sing the songs on spot and the whole movie will be shot in less than 12 hours.

Well these are some of the wild misconceptions I had when I was a kid. Do comment which one made you laugh out loud.

What are some misconceptions about Lord Hanuman?

 The common misconceptions about Lord Hanuman are ::

• Lord Hanuman has a monkey face, but the truth is He is Vanara ( nara (people) who live in Vana ( forests), so you can conclude that Lord Hanuman was a tribe or Kimpurusha, having few features of animal too. And Hanuman in sanskrit means a man with disfigured jaw.
• Females should not worship Lord Hanuman or even touch His idol, since He is Brahmachari, a celibate. But the truth is, all women can worship Him as he treats them as his mother, in the same way how he treated Sita devi as mother.

• Lord Rama left to vaikunta after his avatar purpose was fulfilled and few say Hanuman too left, but the truth is Lord Hanuman didn't accompany him, instead chose to stay back here on Earth. He is still present on this Earth, doing meditation by chanting Rama’s name. That is the reason, even today whenever Ramayana is recited in any place, a seat is kept empty in the Audience for Lord Hanuman.
• Lord Hanuman is not a mythical character, He is the most important Lord in Ramayana, who was born only to do service to Sri Rama. there is mention of Hanuman as God Shiva's Ansh ( form / child / possessing few qualities) in Skanda Purana and the Bhavishya Purana.

• It is Thums Up.
• Not Thumbs Up.

• The world would end in 2012 anyway. So what’s the point of studying.
• I had that thought in 6th standard.
• It is a 0 in papers.
• Not the teacher drawing an egg.
• Anacondas are real.
• I thought they weren’t.
• Dragons aren’t real.
• I thought they were.

• Earth’s rotation causes day and night.
• It doesn’t mean that at night the earth is upside down and you’re just being held together by gravity.
• Advertisements on TV are pre-recorded.
• The same actors don’t precisely act the ad again and again.
• Pokemon is the best series of all time.

• Pokemon still is, the best series of all time.

• I just have to pass 12th, life is set after that.

 There are many misconceptions about Goddess Lakshmi.

Goddess Lakshmi is only goddess of wealth (material).

>Goddess Dhanalakshmi is only Goddess of wealth, there are 7 more forms of Lakshmi.

Goddess Lakshmi and Mahalakshmi is different and Mahalakshmi is wife of Shiva.

>Lakshmi Gaytri Mantra mentions, Mahalakshmi and Lakshmi is same and Vishnupatni.

Ambabai of Kohlapur is Parvati.

>Ambabai is wife of Ventakateshwara (Vishnu) as mention in Mahalakshmi Astakam that Lakshmi is Kohlasur Bhayankari.

 Today morning, someone forwarded the following picture to one of my WhatsApp group.

The caption of the photo was PICTURE OF HAPPINESS.

According to the post, ‘NAZIM HIKMAT -- The great Turkish poet - once asked his friend ABIDIN DINO (Turkish artist and well-known painter), to draw a picture of HAPPINESS. He drew a picture of a whole family -- cramped up on a broken bed -- under a leaky roof in a shabby room -- but still with a smile on each member's face! This Painting became monumental popular’.

The greatest misconception of poverty is that it is good to be poor and that poverty is the source of happiness.

Unfortunately, poverty has been glorified since time immemorial since more people are poor than rich and glorifying poverty is always more popular and appealing to the masses.

Even Jesus Christ preached the virtue of poverty, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 5:3).

He further says, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” (Matthew 19:21-24)

The greatest misconception in the world is that the poor live a happier life than the rich.

Imagine sleeping in a single bed with your spouse, six children and a dog!

Also imagine that the roof is leaking and drops of dirty water are continually trickling on the umbrella above your head and wetting the bedsheets!

Can you ever smile and get a sound sleep?

If you have to sleep like this daily, perhaps the whole family will get mad for not getting proper sleep.

What a frustrating life it would be?

Is it not wiser to have a lesser number of children (if you can’t afford to take care of them properly) to live a happier life?

Hence, a picture showing poor people living a happier life than rich is nothing but purely a figment of the imagination of the artist.

If you wish to live a happy life, you must earn a decent living to pay your bills and fulfil all your basic needs, not only for today but also for tomorrow and day after.

Happiness can come to you only when you have assured food, water, clothing and shelter.

While wealth may not be a guarantee of happiness, poverty is a sure guarantee of unhappiness.

And this is the greatest truth of the world.

• I even used to feel bad for them
• If you eat any seed of any fruit then a tree will grow inside your stomach.
• Politicians work for the welfare of the country.
• In movies actors and actresses really kiss each other.
• Most of the times they don't it depends

• Also everyone whom I watch in TV are actually living in a different world called TV world.
• Doraemon, Shinchan ,Nobita etc live in a different country and I will meet them one day.

• All people are equal irrespective of caste, religion,creed,Gender.
• Sania Mirza and Saina Nehwal are the same person.
• If my head collides with someone else's then we have to collide our head again otherwise horn will grow up.
