Did Sangeeta Bijlani and Salman Khan almost got married?

 Salman Khan and Sangeeta Bijlani were in a serious relationship for nearly eight years. Their marriage was on the cards and the date locked was May 27, 1994.

Salman and Sangeeta began dating in 1986. They met through their shared-circle background in modelling and fashion assignments.

Both were into modelling and had worked on several assignments like Lakhani Shoes & Graveria Suitings before becoming major film stars.

Preparations for their wedding were fully underway in 1994 with even the wedding cards printed. However, the wedding was abruptly called-off just weeks before it took place.

Reports indicate that the split happened after Sangeeta caught Salman being unfaithful with rumours pointing to his involvement with actress Somy Ali.

Sangeeta had discovered his affair with Pakistani-American actress Somi Ali. Somy who had been infatuated by Salman since she was 15, had moved to India to pursue a Bollywood career and began a relationship with Salman.

The Sangeeta-Salman love-chapter ended forever after this incident. However, despite the cancelled wedding, the two have remained good friends and are frequently spotted together at family events and birthday celebrations.

Why did Priyanka Chopra leave the movie Bharat and why is Salman Khan so upset about it?

 Priyanka Chopra was initially the female lead for Bharat but she backed out just five days before the filming was set to begin. The reason being her plans to get married to Nick Jonas. About a fortnight later Nick and Priyanka had a “roka ceremony” at her house followed by their marriage after three months.

Though she was replaced by Katrina Kaif, reports suggest that there was another reason for Priyanka’s exit. It felt strange that someone would do this at the last minute. And that too coming from Priyanka who is known for her emancipated thought process.

Priyanka was termed to be “extraordinary professional” when she did not cancel the shoot and was back on set a few days after her father’s death. So to believe that she is opting out of a film at the ninth hour and that too for engagement seemed a bit out of place.

Priyanka had demanded 12-14 crore for Bharat and it was reported that she was to be paid 6.5 crore. She discussed this matter with a close friend within the Khan family but was informed that the remuneration was decided after checking the viability factor. According to them it was not prudent to pay Priyanka in double-digit keeping her last release Jai Gangajal in mind. It was only after this discussion that Priyanka opted out of Bharat.

Salman was miffed and frustrated as Priyanka informed him and the production team at the very last minute. Also, Priyanka never explained her exit after stepping away from the project. Despite the public drama Salman did not hold any grudges and even attended their wedding.

Salman also said that if she has signed a big film we ourselves would have released her. “Whatever it is Hollywood, marriage or the fact that she does not want to work with me, it’s her reason. If she doesn't want to work here, there in Hollywood she is making our country proud”.

During the promotions, Salman humoursly taunted, ‘people leave husbands for a film like this, Priyanka left the film for marriage’. He also joked that Priyanka should help promote the film since she liked the script. Priyanka’s reaction was, “if a reaction was required, the media would have already seen it”.

When did Salman Khan fight with Raveena Tandon on film sets?

 Salman around 24, Raveena around 17, both belonging to film fraternity, their family being close due to Salim Khan (writer) & Ravi Tandon (director), obviously making their fights an extension of home.

Their fights were never professional fallouts but playful clashes, sort of youth-squabbles.

Salman and Raveena fought a lot on the sets of Patthar Ke Phool. In one such incident (the day Raveena was doing her first photoshoot for Patthar Ke Phool), she was posing and excited to be pampered.

Instead, Salman playfully blew his chewing gum right on Raveena’s face, leaving the gum stuck on her nose. The result, a heated childish argument between the two. Refusing to let it go Raveena demanded that she be allowed to do the same leading to a hilarious tit-for-tat fight.

Their clashes were so frequent and intense that Salman once famously vowed that he will never work with Raveena again. However, the two were seen together in Andaz Apna Apna and Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye.

Despite the silly on-sets spats in the beginning of their career they evolved into thick friends sharing deep mutual respect for each other.

Raveena has even credited Salman as being one of the very few friends in the industry who stood by her during her toughest times.

Why did Salman Khan have to apologize to Sunil Shetty?

 Suneil Shetty made his debut with Balwaan in 1992. He was a rising star at that time. Somy Ali refused to work with Suniel in the initial phase of his career calling him a “newcomer”. Some of her comments angered Sunil Shetty.

It was the time when Somy Ali was also struggling to find good work in the industry. Her comments angered Suniel Shetty to such an extent that he disagreed to be a part of Anth if Somy was also a part of it.

Shetty was a big name by then and therefore the makers decided to prioritise him and started looking for a replacement for Somy. At that time Somy’s ex-boyfriend Salman Khan came to her rescue.

Salman Khan who shares a close bond with Suniel Shetty apologised to him on behalf of Somy Ali and ensured that Somy stayed in the project. This mellowed down Suniel and he agreed to work with Somy in the film. The movie also turned out to be a hit.

Few years back Somy also opened up and apologised Suniel stating that those weren't her own words. It was not her thought process as she was receiving guidance from wrong people.
