What are some mind-blowing facts about Hawaa Mahal in Rajasthan?

  1. Hawa Mahal' means 'Palace of Winds', attributed to the breeze that circulates through the building's 950 windows.

2. The palace was built so that the ladies of the Royal Court could observe life on the street below without being seen.

3. The architecture of the Hawa Mahal is a unique combination of Rajput and Mughal styles. The most famous building of the Mughal empire is the Taj Mahal.

4.While not tall in comparison to the world's skyscrapers, the Hawa Mahal is actually considered one of the world's tallest buildings...

...without foundations.

5. The Hawa Mahal's windows were designed to replicate the honeycomb of a beehive, which allows fresh air into the building without anyone inside being visible to the outside world.

6. Shaped like a Crown Hawa Mahal is built in the shape of a crown, it looks like Lord Krishna's crown. Sawai Pratap Singh was believed to be a great devotee of Lord Krishna. His passion became the reason behind this design

7. No Front Entrance Hawa Mahal doesn't have a direct entrance; one has to enter from the side of City Palace. Hawa Mahal was built as a part of the City Palace, so there is no entrance from outside.
