Mata Sita is the most powerful person in all the Ramayanas.

  1. She could have killed Ravana, but spared his life for Rama's sake -

"O Ravana! Although you are suited to be burnt into ashes, not having the mandate of Rama and preserving austerity, I am not reducing you into ashes with my glory."

  • Sarga 22, Sundara Kanda, Valmiki Ramayana.

2. She killed Shatanana Ravana with the help of Hanuman -

Right then Mother of the world took the form of Goddess Kali and fought raining terrifying arrowsTerrifying was the war between mother Sita and the demons. Hanuman was suprised seeing the demons rising relentlessly from the soil particles wet with blood. Then Hanuman grew his tail to cover the entire area as a result of which no more blood could fall on the ground. Since no more blood fell on the ground, the killed ones caused reduction in their numbers. Thanks to the raining arrows by Sita only the real Shatanana was left. Then Sita set a fire blenching arrow to her bow and said so '”If Lord Sri Rama is dedicated to a single wife, if I always consider my husband as God let this arrow cause fall of Shatanana's head”. So saying Sita released the arrow and cut of Shatanana's head.

3. She killed Sahastra Ravana and his entire army easily -

She stepped down from the Pushpak chariot, holding a sword and a hollowed out skull in her hands. She lunged forward at the chariot of Ravana in a fraction of a moment like a hawk or falcon bird swooping down on its prey. In less then a fraction of a second, she severed (sliced off) all the thousand heads of Ravana playfully and magically, without the least effort, with one single swift swoop of the sword. She pounced upon other brave demon warriors present there, piercing and lacerating their heads with her nails, resulting in those evil and sinful souls tumble down from their mounts like nine pins in the battlefield. Janaki (Sita) sliced the belly of some of the demons by her sharpnails and severed the legs and other vital organs of others by her sword as they fell down.
