Where are the Anglo Indians in India? Did they all emigrate to other nations?

First of all, definition for those who don’t know, who are Anglo-Indians?

The term Anglo-Indians can refer to at least two groups of people: those with mixed Indian and British ancestry, and people of British descent born or living in the Indian subcontinent.

In simple words, Anglo-Indian is a person who has mixed Indian and British ancestry.

In the 18th Century, the British East India Company encouraged employees to marry native women and plant roots. The company would even pay a sum for every child born of these cross-cultural unions.

When the British finally departed in 1947 they left behind a Westernised mixed-race subpopulation of about 3,00,000.

Well, according to Telegraphs’ 2011 report, currently there are around 1,50,000 anglo-Indians are residing over here in India. There’re are two prominent reasons which are considered for this dip
