What are some mind-blowing amazing facts about the human body?

This is where I was yesterday. Blue skies, warm breeze, fresh air. I walked 10 miles to have lunch at that spot. Its buried in my memory, I've been in other spots but this days sticks in my head.

So what has this to do with amazing facts of the human body?

No matter how I describe that point in time, no matter how you percieve those photos, you didn't see it through my eyes.

Not many folk have ventured into human vision here, and the eye is a biological masterpiece. How much of all that you know was as a result of what you saw.

Amazing facts you want, amazing facts ye shall have.

Did you know each eye contains over 2 million working parts, yet unlike many organs the eyes dont grow much, they're almost full size at birth (Probably a reason babies look so darn cute…big eyes.)

The human eye is proper high resolution, there's no comparable equivalent but exceeds any modern digital camera. I believe the eye is equivalent to around 576 megapixels in resolution. Suck on that Kodak.

The eye is also unmatched in focus speed. There's no satisfactory equivalent, the extremely tiny ciliary muscles in your eye change the shape of the lens to focus from distant objects to something inches away in milliseconds. Cone cells detect shade of colour, human eyes have high density cone cells meaning they can distinguish between 10 million different shades. I didn't know that many shades existed! But my eyes do…

In perfect darkness the human eye can detect the smallest particle of light known as a ‘Photon.’ We can actually see a candle flame from 12 miles. The eye however works in tandem with the brain, it can't see on its own, and it sees upside down in photons.

Another amazing fact is that 50% of the brains resources are dedicated to the process of vision, someone has to be, the eye can rotate at speeds of 500 degrees per second. Every minute to keep in tip top condition we blink between 15-20 times.

So I'm nominating the eye to have some amazing facts.
