The movies in which Divya Bharti was replaced due to her untimely death are Mohra (replaced by Raveena Tandon), Laadla (Sridevi), Hulchul (Kajol), Vijaypath (Tabu), Andolan (Mamta Kulkarni), Aag (Shilpa Shetty), Kartavya (Juhi Chawla), Dhanwaan (Karishma Kapoor) and Angrakshak (Pooja Bhatt).
She had signed Kanyadaan and Raghuveer where she was replaced by Manisha Koirala and Shilpa Shirodkar. Some of her films like Bajrang and Ek Kadam Aage were shelved after her death.
She would have done good in Mohra but it would have been interesting to see her in Laadla.
Divya had already shot 80% of the film before her death. The female character of all the films mentioned above come under the “typical bracket”. Laadla had a female centric storyline.
There is some footage of Divya’s performance and she has done a commendable job. In fact the footage of her performance was shown in a television programme after her death in 1994.
Director Raj Kanwar was so very impressed by Divya’s performance that he had shown the clips to Sridevi and asked her to emote like Divya.
It would be unfair to debate on their performances. It has to be noted that Sridevi was an experienced actress known for her versitality whereas Divya was in the early stage of her career.
