What is the most Telugu thing ever?

 

  • Ceremony of first ‘menstruation’
  • Mangala sutra — The two coin-sized gold discs are separated by 2-3 beads of different kinds. By tradition, one disc comes from the bride's family and another from the groom's side.
  • kuchipudi dance. (Originated from Andhra )
  • Half Saree and Dhoti function — where grand parents are supposed to gift the half saree ( for girl ) and Dhoti ( for boy ) to wear them for the first time.
  • Avakaya muddapappu annam ( An awesome telugu combination )
  • Appadalu
  • Gungura Royyalu Curry ( Prawns and Mesta )
  • Ariselu ( specially made at the time of sankranthi )

Recipe made on the day of telugu new year called ‘Ugadi’.

  • Sadness – Neem Buds/Flowers for its bitterness.
  • Happiness – Jaggery and ripe banana pieces for sweetness.
  • Anger – Green Chilli/Pepper for its hot taste.
  • Fear – Salt for saltiness.
  • Disgust – Tamarind Juice for its sourness.
  • Surprise – Unripened Mango for its tang.

Indicating that one must expect all flavour of experiences in life.

  • Custom of marrying uncle’s daughter or son( cross cousins ). ( Bava, Maradalu)
  • Guys addressing themselves as “ra”, “mama”, “babai”, “bava”.
  • Putharekulu — The sweet is wrapped in a wafer-thin rice starch layer resembling paper and is stuffed with sugar, dry fruits and nuts.
  • ‘Hyderabad’ biryani
  • ‘Charminar’ bangles
  • ‘Thamboolam’ — Combination of Betel leaf, two bananas, flowers , turmeric, saffron and a piece of clothe. Every guest was given “Thamboolam” before they took leave.
  • Pulajada — hair decoration with flowers.
  • Kondapalli toys — toys made of only wood.

What is the heaviest stone ever moved?

Thunder Stone. In Saint Petersburg.

A mass of red granite was pulled from a swamp in 1768-Weighed 1,500 tonnes then. Raw thing of nature.

Men moved it not machines, not beasts, just men-Four hundred of them - They waited for winter, for the ground to freeze hard-Laid down tracks of iron.

Rolled it on brass, spheres, primitive ball bearing-Two capstans turned by hand, it crept six kilometers, nine months of mean work-All to hold a statue of a tsar. On its journey, they carved it-Chipped away 250 tonnes, a moving sculpture.

They took it to Neva River-it was 1,250 tonnes, now, still the heaviest.

Other stones lie in quarries, larger perhaps--One is the Stone Of The Pregnant Woman, might push 1500 tonnes-But they were never moved, never set in place-Thunder Stone was.
